REMINDER: Ineligible Players

article

Hello everyone, just a quick reminder:

Recently, we have noticed an influx of teams requesting players to made eligible for finals. This seems to becoming 'the norm' around finals time. Players will only be made eligible in rare cases, under the discretion of the CoD Admin team. Excuses such as kicking players as a joke are not acceptable.

Quote from Skitch on the 12th of April 2011: "
From today, Tuesday the 12th of April 2011, the PS3 Admin team will not be changing statuses of players to make them eligible for matches.

The reason for this is because it's becoming more of a habit for teams to be doing this, and it's simply in your control to be on top of your team, and for you to ensure, that your players are available to play particular matches.

FOR EXAMPLE; If a team has nine players and for some reason only has five players eligible to play, that's not our problem, we're not going to make a player eligible just so your team can field a full squad.

However, in some instances we will make exception, if the reason for a player to be eligible is out of their control or their team's control, then we will be able to deal with it. Such situations will be determined at the admin's discretion."

If you have any questions concerning this issue, please open a Support Ticket.:

MW3 CGo S1: Ladders Locked!

article

Modern Warfare 3 CGo Season 1: Ladder Lock!
MW3 CGo S&D Ladder :
| MW3 CGo 4v4 Ladder :
| MW3 CGo 2v2 Ladder :
| MW3 CGo 1v1 Ladder :

[hr]
Schedule
Roster Lock: 1st February (12.01am)
Ladder Lock (Top 16): 3rd February (1am)
CGo Finishes:: 8th February (11.59pm)
Finals Period Begins (Top 16): 9th February
[hr]
The TOP 16 positions from each of the above ladders cannot challenge or be challenged. Each ladder is now 'partially' locked in preparation for finals. Any existing challenges have until 8th February 11.59pm to be completed or they will face cancellation.

i.e Ladder Lock (and Roster Lock) affects teams that are within TOP 16 or are vying for a finals position (TOP 16 position).

Teams that have no current challenges that may impact TOP 16 placings are immune from Ladder Lock (and Roster Lock). Teams in this situation are free to challenge / be challenged as per usual.

Quote: "Roster Lock
Players who join a team after Roster Lock will not be able to compete up to and including finals. Matches between Roster Lock and the commencement of Finals are included."

Quote: "Ladder Lock
When Ladder Lock occurs, the top 16 teams of the ladder will be locked into their positions and will not be able to make or be challenged. Challenges issued prior to Ladder Lock that are not complete by Ladder Lock will have one week to be completed (until 8th Feb 11.59pm). If they are not completed, the matches will be cancelled (pending any extreme circumstances). Teams outside the top 16 will be fine to challenge and play as usual."

HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY CGPS3

user

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CYBERGAMER PS3

The moment has come yet again. It seems like it was only yesterday I was typing up a thread celebrating the first birthday for Cybergamer PS3. But we're here, one year later, one year wiser and one year stronger. That's right everyone it's been two years to the day that the doors to the PS3 section of Cybergamer opened up, and let me be the first to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY CYBERGAMER PS3!!!

A lot has happened over the last year, so where do I begin? Well, first things first, let's talk about the highly successful introduction of P2P leagues on PS3. When Black Ops first came out, we were all a little sceptical some praising it for being a great game, while other wise old sage's immediately saw it for the piece of trash it eventually turned out to be. (Aussiepride, I remember your genius at work)(also, yes you get another shoutout in this birthday thread xo) But, regardless of how crap of a game some of us saw it to be, the admin team managed to launch a P2P ladder and teams were now fighting for cashmoney.

But that wasn't the only P2P the admin team had in store for all you punters, oh hail no. After the completion of the Black Ops 5v5 SND P2P, we saw an objective P2P ladder, the MW2 P2P ladder and the COD4 P2P Ladder all of which providing great matchups. Through the use of these Pay to Play ladders, not only did CGPS3 attract a lot more people lurking around Call of Duty on the PSN, but it also attracted some fairly big names in competitive gaming; Frenetic Array, Parallel Gaming, Mindfreak, and Carnage all getting teams established on the PS3 Ladders.

We also had the pleasure of being introduced to shoutcasting thanks to Bioacid, Milan and Redrum. These three have given PS3 yet another boost in the competitive gaming scene in Australia by providing live, shoutcasted footage of some of the biggest matches on our Call of Duty ladders. And with the steady increase of people interested in not only having their games shoutcasted but also being shoutcasters themselves this is but another step toward PS3's total world domination.

With all these high-end e-sport teams showing interest in PS3, it would be hard to deny that our community is steadily increasing and getting our name out there for all to see. And in August we were given the news that in less t...

CGPS3 Update: New Ranked PUG System!

article

Ranked MW3 PUG System:
| MW3 1v1 FFA Ruleset:

[hr]
Hey guys,

Today CGPS3 is releasing a new variation to the PUG system which has been kindly developed by Asterix.

We are calling it 'ranked' FFA PUGs.

Essentially it is very similar to regular, 'standard' PUGs you are all use to, except here, there are no teams. Each player is individual. For the time being, we will be trialling this new 'individual player' PUG system with the Modern Warfare 3 FFA (Free-For-All) gametype. We hope to expand this system to other titles (racing games especially) as well in the future.

[hr]
How does it work? How to get started...

First, visit the the FFA Ranked PUG System here:

There you will find a series of 'PUGs' already made that are awaiting players to join. (as shown below)

Join? - As implied, click to JOIN PUG
Info - Pulls out a 'drop-down' box to view players in selected PUG
View - View a specific PUG in more detail. PUG chat is enabled.
Ranked FFA PUGs allow for 8 players to compete against each other. Each PUG listed in the MW3 system indicates a particular weapon that MUST be used during the match - be it Assault Rifles, SMGs, Sniper Rifles or the ability to use any of the three ('All').

Join one of the PUGs that have been created, wait for it to fill up and 'ready up' like you would in a standard team-based PUGBOT. Once everyone is ready, the match can begin. Suggested hosts with PSN IDs will be shown in the channel chatroom for your convenience. Discuss in the chatroom who will host and invite all players into a lobby.

The better you place in the match, the more points you will be awarded. After a match is played, all players need to return and report the scores into the PUG system. It will prompt you to 'Enter Scores'. Enter the score/points that were accumulated in the match, not the total number of kills and deaths.

The PUG System requires a minimum of 6 players to provide scores. Once that's done, the match/pug will complete, player 'rankings' will formulate and a leaderboard generated. Player ra...

Performance throughout the open season (CGo S1)
Performance throughout recent finals
Performance throughout past PS3 Competitions

The above aspects are a generalisation towards admin selections, this doesn't mean if your team has not recently competed in finals or other competitions that you won't be selected for a spot in the S&D Leagues. Zowie Celeritas Review [Word from manufacturer]

user

So, what do we have here today? Err,.. I mean, what product have I been using for the better part of the past 3 months? That will be Zowie’s Celeritas keyboard. The makers – Zowie - as such have been an integral part of the gaming scene ever since their initial launch back in 2008. Since then Zowie have not only supplied the gamers with their gear, but also provided teams and tournaments with sponsorships integral to the ever growing success of the industry – that is eSports.
