Hey Kids!
That time of the year again! Season 1 of the ever popular FFA comp is once again upon us. This season will be run much like the previous years, read on for more information.

When is this competition taking place?
The SteelSeries Free For All Finals Competition will be held on the 19th of February at 7pm.

We will be starting at 10:30am EDST and finishing late (9pm will be the latest we finish).

Teams who show up late will forfeit their match or matches. Just like previous P2Ps, we will run to schedule!

14 teams have signed up, meaning that two teams will receive a bye into the second round of the winner's bracket.

14 teams have signed up, creating an overall prize-pool of $560. This will be split between 1st to 3rd placed finishers as follows:

1st Prize: $360
2nd Prize: $160
3rd Prize: $40

All matches will be a best of 5 series:
CTF, SND, CTF, SND, CTF

We will be using the continuation rule...

Top x positions cannot be challenged during Ladder Lock. Any current challenges have until the 7th of February to be completed.

Top 24 is now locked for S&D.
Top 16 is now locked for Kill Confirmed.
Top 16 is now locked for 2v2's.

PS: If you have a match on one of these ladders and are playing for a rank that is within the finals (1-24 SND, 1-16 Kill & 1-16 2v2) you cannot use any players who joined after Roster Lock.

If your team is not playing for a spot in the finals positions, you can use any normally-eligible player and are excluded from the Roster Lock rule.

The BF3 4 v 4 SQUAD RUSH LADDERS(link):
are now open....so teams that have registered 4 or more players (max 12) can be challenged and accept challenges according to the following rules


CHALLENGE INFO

You can challenge teams 50% of your rank above you plus 2 positions.

If you win a defending match you are protected for 24h (no one will be able to challenge you).
If you win a challenging match you are protected for 6h (no one will be able to challenge you).
If you lose a defending match you are vulnerable for 6h (you will be unable to challenge).
If you lose a challenging match you are vulnerable for 24h (you will be unable to challenge).
You cannot play the same team twice in a row.
Time given to accept a match: 2 days
Team members required to challenge: 4
Players are allowed to be in 1 team at a time

This is a FAST ladder, protected/vulnerable times are halved normal ladders.

Season 1 will go for 8 weeks + finals






RULESET:



SETTING UP A MATCH IN "PUBLIC" SERVERS

1.1 Finding an empty Squad Rush Server is not always straight forward. Both teams need to be ready to enter the server & accept invites immediately so that no randoms get into the game. Once in the game set up squads/swap sides as necessary. Perhaps having both teams of 4 in the one Party Chat during set up would be the best way. Because this is Squad Rush, setting up Squads should be relatively quick & straight forward. Should there be a delay the initial round/room you are in can be a warm up/pre round. Upon conclusion of this round, the very next round will be considered the first live round of the match - and both teams should be in their own private chats by this stage.

1.2 Should Randoms get into a server - play can be halted with messages sent to that person through XBL asking them to leave as you are playing a Private Match. As we are using public servers, this can & should be expected to happen occassionally. It is not their fault and is unfortunate, so manners & respectful attitudes will serve you well. This is unfortunate but it is the best we can do for Aus/NZ...

As you are all aware, the 4v4 Ladder Ruleset has been updated in accordance with the changes to the EU Decerto Ruleset; as should be self-explanatory, these changes (and any future alterations) will be applied to this competition, and towards any 4v4 competitions hereafter.
