CG Coverage Team - Looking For COD Writers!

user

[hr]

Hey!

As per some suggestion thrown around by the community we have decided to run a 'Coverage Team' for the Xbox side of things. In terms of this thread, we are more specifically looking for COD writers. We have had applications submitted but we are still in need for 2-3 more writers! The purpose of this thread is to gain more interest.

Quote from Brittany on the 8th of May 2012: "
Content Team: League Reports, Interviews with teams, staff members and 'pro players'. Even the covering of LANS and any ODC comps that are run by CG. This will even include updating the community with the latest team changes and organisation news. If writing is your forte make sure you apply!"

[hr]
We are looking for writers who are:
~ Literate
~ Knowledgeable
~ Experienced
~ Committed

[hr]
If you are all of the above then we strongly recommend you to apply, you will be helping the Aus COD scene immensely. For more info please read the thread linked below! If you wish to apply simply follow the method described in the thread linked or PM me.

Original Thread:

[hr]
Thanks for reading, we're looking forward to reading all the applications!

Cheers,
Trixxyz.

CyberGamer MW3 4v4 P2P ODC #6 - June 3rd

user

MW3 4v4 P2P ODC #6 - June 3rd

[hr]Housekeeping

22. That's the number of teams participated in CG's last ODC (#5), making it our largest and best showing to date. Mix-and-match team MF/Ci/x5 + Ziggy took out the competition with an impressive grand final victory against the ever-present fray, with surprise packet Seraphic Nexus rounding out the top 3. It truly is anybody's competition to win, but you have to be in it to win it!

For those new or unfamiliar with how Double Elimination ODC's (One Day Competitions) work, essentially the entire competition is played out in a single day and teams are only eliminated from the competition after receiving a second loss, meaning that you can lose once and still go on to win the competition! Obviously, if your team is not available on the day, you will not be able to participate. This will be explained in further detail below.

[hr]Date and Time

The format for this 4v4 P2P will be a One Day Competition (ODC). It will be held on Sunday the 3rd of June.

On June 3rd we will start between 10:30 and 11:30 (depending on numbers) and finish late (9pm will be the latest we finish). The official start time will be announced on the day before competition.

Please make sure that your team is able to compete for the entire day before registering.

Teams who show up late will forfeit matches! Just like previous P2Ps, we will run to schedule.

[hr]Team Registration

The list of registered teams can be found HERE:
listed under "ODC 6 League". Registration and payment is OPEN until Midnight (11:59pm) on Friday the 1st of June.

When registering your team, you will be placed into a waiting pool until your team has enough eligible players and is subsequently approved. Once your team has been approved, it will be placed in the list of competing teams.

Once your team is approved and listed, you can pay your registration by clicking the Payment Portal link at the top of the page.

Please note that if your team had registered for the last P2P ODC or if your team was in the waiting pool with an eligible roster, your team has already been added to the ladder for competing teams. From here, you are free to pay for your team, edit your roster,...

Gears of War 3 is back after making its debut at its first ever ACL LAN event, with ACL Gears of War 3 Online Round 3! Round 3 you say? But there was never a Round 2?! Well that's because the GAMECOM Gauntlet was held in its place, and since that tournament contributed to ACL Season Points we have moved right along to Round 3 for consistency sake. ACL Gears of War 3 Online Round 3 will host the best Gears of War 3 teams and players that Australian and New Zealand has ever seen, all fighting for a some very desirable prizes including $200 cash and an Avermedia Game Broadcaster HD for first place!

Black Ops 2 Master Thread

user

Hi guys,
I'm putting this up primarily to keep everything regarding Black Ops 2 in the one thread, and to help limit the multitude of threads that get created as we edge closer to the release of another CoD. Use this thread for all info (links, videos etc) and discussion regarding Black Ops 2.

There doesn't seem to be much that has been confirmed at this stage, however feel free to post and discuss anything you come across. Please try and add a source even if the info may not be legitimate.

Any other Black Ops 2 news threads will be locked or merged here until closer to the release date when the forum sections for Black Ops 2 are created.

Gears of War 3 Fight Night!

user

Source:
Remember to make an account on to compete!

Hey guys,

On the 25th of May 2012, ESGN co-hosted by Console Domination as well as GoW3CompetitiveAus/NZ will be providing all you Gears fans with a Gears of War 3 Fight Night!

For those of you who don't know what a Fight Night is, think of it as a Giant PUG (Pick-Up Group). It is a social event where random players get together(Online) and enjoy a night of gaming. From various game types such as: Team Deathmatch, King of the Hill, Capture the Leader, Wingman, Warzone & Execution, you can be rest assured that the night will be packed with action that all players will enjoy.

Depending on the amount of players that sign up, the ideal goal is to have multiple lobbies of 8 or 10. Those competitive players will be in their own lobby while the more social players can play with other social gamers so they don't feel like the fun is taken out of the game.

If you would like to sign up to this event, just post below and show your interest! There is no player cap in place, so players will have right until the day before the event to sign up and lobbies will be announced on the 24th of May.

So remember, the 25th of May, 2012. Share it around guys!

Also, there will be a lucky door prize for those entering where participants have a chance to win a copy of Battlefield 3, and you don't even need to do anything!

Myksta Out <3

Note: When signing up, please put down your gamertag and mention if you have all the DLC or not, cheers.

Also, please put down if you wish to be considered as a Casual or Competitive player so that if I don't know you, I can put you in an appropriate lobby.

GOW3 Revolution

user

Hey guys,

To carry on from a recent thread I'm here to cover a bit about the GOW3 Revolution and what we hope to achieve.

Since Gears 2 we have been quite a distant community. We have excluded ourselves from outsiders and as a result we aren't the most inviting community to outsiders.

Gears 3 is growing at a solid rate. In the past 6 months we have gone from having a couple of ladders on CG to having several online tournaments hosted by ACL & ESGN as well as our first live event. In the foreseeable future we have at least two more Online Rounds as well as another live event.
CG are hosting a league which will give the top 8 teams in the country a change to prove themselves over a period of time.

All of these events are giving our community more and more exposure, which, in turn, is bringing more players to our community.

This is where we step in.

We hope to create a place that provides a plethora of information to help bring awareness and value to our community. We will have a content team producing content, both written and media based, to help this process.

We want someone who has never played Gears to check this content out, be interested enough to stick around and read through it, then to get involved with the community.
Growing the competitive player base for Gears is going to increase longevity to the title and is essential for us to continue to have online tournaments.

This brings me to my next topic, we need people to produce content for this. Simon produced Gears of War 3 Bible:
which is a wonderful sign of initiative and a great way for newcomers to get up to speed with the competitive scene.
We want more people to step up and produce content like this. Whether you want to do write-ups of matches, commentate, cast, produce video content, run interviews, edit montages or anything, we want to hear from you.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to read this.

Please contact Myksta:
or myself:
if you are interested in being involved in this project.
