Well here we are.
[p]Alive and kicking, still in the infancy stages of Mw2 competition, with only a single season under our belts, and the game seemingly exploding with new offers on the table for us pro and casual gamers to thoroughly enjoy.[/p][p]Season 1 seemed to be a little up and down though, with teams like inF, mseb and Inc taking the early lime light, only to fall by the wayside as they dropped out of competition for their own reasons respectively. We also saw the 2 finalist teams coming from the bottom of the ladder to push their way into the top spots, and then finally to put on a show of all shows that was the grand final.[/p][p]This was possibly the real turning point for our community in regards to interest, the match was shout casted by our friends at GameStah, and with Syk3 and N3on putting in a heap of work to make sure the match was streamed live through Xfire, this really was a great spectacle and didn't Xlayer and F4F put on a show! It ended up a very tight struggle with Xlayer pulling off the first map on Skidrow, then a 13-10 score line for the second map in F4F's favour, only to have F4F really amp up the pressure on Invasion leaving Xlayer in their wake and taking out the final series. Well done again F4F.[/p][p]During the off season, the forums were alight with discussions on rule sets and other changes. The admin's worked their asses off to get a solid rule set back to the players, then finally adjusted again with the attachments bringing our new rule set into a truly competitive nature and all ready for the start of season 2.[/p][p]With the start of Season 2 came some other big announcements. Whilst teams were getting back some activity, it was announced there would be a Winter Cup Round Robin competition. With a $50 entry fee to this comp, and prize money being divided between the winning teams, interest was high and talk has been abound in the forums. Some big CoD4 teams have entered the comp, with Naturally Skilled and Clarity being the stand outs. With this competition setting to kick off in a few weeks, and teams stratting hard for it, this will definitely showcase exactly what Mw2 has to offer, and just how good our top teams are.[/p][p]Lets get a little insight into our top teams now. There is no doubt the competition at the top of Mw2 easily matches the competition of other competitive games, although lacking in numbers of teams, the quality still remains at the top. The players who inhabit these teams, are very skilled individuals, with great aim and great in game smarts, they top this off with excellent team work and well thought out strats. It goes without saying, that if you want to become a top team in Mw2, you need to work hard, you need to put the time in and practice the game. [/p][p]With the help of the captains from a handful of teams that are around the top of CGo atm, we've put together a simple questionnaire detailing some minor points and their views of the game and our ladder we play in. Hopefully this will give some of the "up and coming" teams some insight in how the top teams prepare, and with some more dedication to their game, have those border teams knocking on the door at the top of CGo in no time at all.[/p][p]Throughout season 1 the competition was hot and cold. Some big teams took to the stage and showed everyone how the game could be played, whilst some unknown teams also decided to step up to the challenge and give it what they had.[/p]
