League of Legends MaqLAN $1500 tournament
MiS Consulting took home $150 each over the weekend at the bring your own PC MaqLAN event held in Sydney at the Maquarie University Atrium, when they won the 5 v 5 League of Legends tournament. At the event over 250 gamers had come along with their PC's to get involved in plenty of gaming action, prize tournaments and fun activities. MaqLAN is proudly sponsored by Gigabyte, Thermaltake, Monster, Sony, Microsoft and Maquarie University.
MaqLAN is a large format gaming event jointly co-ordinated by the Maquarie University Computing Society and the team's behind Multiplayers United, Sydney Online Gaming Community and North-Shore Gamers. The concept is to create a community event for all gamers to come together, have a great time with like-minded people and give everyone a chance at winning some fantastic prizes.
The high-quality production of this event was made possible by the hard-work of many different people, so I hope the community gives a big warm tick of approval to these guys.
At this MaqLAN there was over $4,000 in prizes to be won over many fun comps; such as a Gigabyte motherboard treasure-hunt which involved a mad 400m dash, the Monster collect as many cans as you can 'Field of Monster' event, the Maquarie University Science Society iPad 2 give-away, laser skirmish, mouse tossing, dodgeball and many casual and esports gaming tournaments.
The League of Legends tournament featured a $1,500 cash prize pool, with six teams making a total of 30 players signed up, playing a 5 v 5 best-of-three double-elimination tournament.
Along with one of CyberGamer's top division 5v5 League of Legends team's,
MiS Consulting, there were also plenty of other well known members of CyberGamer in attendance at this LAN!
