Registrations and Tournament rules to be released today (Thursday 7 July 2011)

4 winners will be flown to the USA to compete for Australia in the COD XP event on September 2-3 for a prize pool of $1million

Activision has decided to give other territories a chance to compete in the USA.

USA event: 2-3 September 2011 California.

Activision will be running the event at Monash University Clayton Campus on the 13th July 2011.

Monash University will only be supplying the venue and selective hardware.

The Australian event will also be streamed live, via Ustream.

COD XP Australian Qualifying Event
Rules Breakdown
General:
• Tournament will consist of 32 teams of 4;
• Competitors will play on independent screens with headphones;
• This will be a single elimination format.
General Game Settings:
• Hardcore Mode: Disabled;
• Allow Killcam: Enabled;
• Headshots Only: Disabled;
• Allow Sprint: Enabled;
• Max Health: Normal;
• Health Regen: Normal;
• Spectating: Team only;
• Friendly Fire: Enabled;
• No Killstreaks;
• No Perks;
• Custom classes will be used and are outlined below.
Match Settings:
• Match Type: Search and Destroy;
• Time limit per round: 1.5 minutes;
• Bomb timer: 45 seconds;
• Plant time: 5 seconds;
• Defuse time: 5 seconds;
• Multi Bomb: Disabled;
• Round Switch: Every round;
• Number of Lives: 1;
• Round Limit: 4.
First to win 4 rounds wins the match with overtime at 3 all.

Teams must enter together (4 players on one email) including:

Name, address, phone, email, DOB for each team member and TEAM NAME

NB: This is ‘first in, first served’ and once all 32 teams have been secured, no additional players will be accepted. Teams will be advised via return email.

Also, please note, if there are any teams that forfeit prior to the event’s commencement, we will contact the next teams on the list regarding registration.


Prize: The victorious team will win an all expenses paid trip to LA to compete in the COD XP event. The prize includes flights, accommodation, transfers, meals and entry into the tournament. The winning team MUST be available to attend the event between August 31 and September 4.

Tickets for Call of Duty XP will be available for $150. Tickets will go on sale July 19, giving attendees a two-day pass and the chance to be completely immersed in the action and excitement of Call of Duty.
