LAN: AvT Wellington LAN

It’s back!
Adversity Gaming is proud to announce the return of AvT Wellington LAN for 2012!
Over the weekend of January 28th/29th, Capital E in Wellington central will play host to New Zealand’s best Xbox gamers, as they compete for the top spot in their respective games.

Boasting a 14-team turnout at this years event, Halo:Reach will be back on the lineup for 2012, along with titles such as Modern Warfare 3, Gears of War 3, Battlefield 3 and Guitar Hero:Warriors of Rock.
With the help of Standing Fierce, we will also be catering to NZ’s fighting game community, with competitions for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Tekken 6, and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition.

With more titles, more competitions and more gamers, Wellington LAN 2012 is not to be missed!

Where is it?Once again, we will be holding the event at Capital E in Wellington Central.

What do I need to bring?
Wellington LAN is completely BYO, so you’ll need to bring whatever you use to game at home.
This usually includes:
- A monitor/TV (under 24” is ideal, but if you’re planning on bringing a larger screen, please drop us a line so we can work out spacing)
- Xbox 360 + cables
- Controller(s)
- Guitar/Fightstick etc for games that require alternative controllers
- Game disk(s)
- Headset (We disallow the use of speakers to avoid distracting other gamers. For fighting games and Guitar Hero, speakers are allowed on a volume that doesn’t interrupt other games)
- Ethernet cord (5-10m length is preferable, to ensure that you can reach the connection at the event)
- Any extra items that you use to game with at home (e.g. mixamp)

How much does it cost?

This year we will be introducing multiple options for event passes, to better suit a range of gamers.


Tournament Pass
If you're serious about our FPS titles or Guitar Hero, this is the pass for you. Tournament passes are much like last years general pass, and give access to the following:

- Entry into the event
- Entry to a maximum of 2 tournament competitions
- Entry into fighting competitions (time permitting)
- Entry into social competitions (time permitting)
- Choice of seating in tournament game area


- Earlybird Tournament Pass (payment before November 30th): $60
- Standard Tournament Pass: $70
Tournament pass holders must be registered and paid by Jan 15th

Fighting Pass:
To those more partial to Jin and Ryu than Noble 6 and Soap MacTavish, the fighting pass is for you. With special thanks to Standing Fierce, we're happy to be able to better cater for fighting gamers.
Fighting passes give access to the following:
- Entry into the event
- Entry into multiple fighting competitions
- Entry into social competitions (time permitting)
- Choice of seating in fighting game area

- Fighting Pass (base price): $40
- Per Tournament Entry: $10
Fighting pass holders must be registered and paid by Jan 15th


Social Pass:
For Wellington LAN 2012, we will be introducing the social pass.
This is aimed at gamers who wish to be part of the LAN atmosphere, join in on casual games or social tournaments, but don’t want to enter into any competitive tournaments.
These passes will also be available at the door on Saturday 28th January up until midday (space permitting)
Social passes give access to the following:

- Entry into the event
- Entry into multiple social competitions

- Social Pass (paid prior to event): $40
- Social Pass (paid at to event): $50



What is the event schedule?

The specific tournament and stage timetables are yet to be confirmed, however the venue will be open between the following times for tournament play:

Saturday 28th January: 10am-11pm
Sunday 29th January: 10am-7pm
