Hey guys,
Yes, it's another "I quit thread" but this one is quite sincere, or I intend it to be anyhow.
I've done quite well on CyberGamer in terms of competitive gaming. Got to Top 4 with Vicious Assault for COD4, had some fun matches with the Drjft Gaming team while it was together. Also had some shitty times too, which I will elaborate on at the end of my post.
Tekken 6, also, I've had fun with. Keeping myself within the Top 8 for a while, having a few good wins, but I can't be bothered now, or anymore, for numerous reasons.
I've nearly finished my application for the Australian Army, I am just waiting to here when I can go to Kapooka. I'm pretty nervous, and excited, and it's all happened really quickly. From now up until then, I just wanna focus on promoting CyberGamer, as well as doing more quality writing that you've seen from me in the past, in the form of reviews, and I am going to start doing a weekly news recap with Screenshots of games, and videos, that I am sent by developers, only on CyberGamer.
Which brings me to my next topic, Drjft Gaming. I personally don't feel I can continue running it, for a few reasons, and I will explain below. If you have any criticism about the site, or flaming, feel free to let it out, just let it be known, I've always taken it in my stride and I will continue to do so;
A; The site isn't as productive as it used to be, and I am no longer feeling the drive, or committment to running it. The forums are dead, even though that slowed down ages ago, I thought it would pick up.
B; The current layout, isn't enough to give it an edge, nor make it attractive for new users. I can't afford to buy a new one, nor do I have the time anymore to recode a whole layout and CSS like I did with the original site.
C; Ryan Croton has been MIA, and is sorting his own personal stuff out, and we haven't been doing the podcast. That was probably my favorite thing to do, so I will intend, and try to do it more often, but as a stand alone thing, and in no way related to Drjft Gaming.
D; I will be keeping the domain, and using it to host images, reviews, and anything else, for my own personal
portfolio.
Having said all of that, I am putting more of my efforts into doing positive things for CyberGamer, like continue my professional relationship with THQ, and I am currently talking to an independent game development team, to get an exlcusive preview, but more news on that when it happens.
As I was saying earlier, I've had some bad times, too. Mainly with "Marshy" and any of his other merry men. I'm over it, I have more important stuff to worry about. I don't hold any bad blood over it, but people really need to act their age, even if it is on a "Forum" or anywhere.
The main demographic of this site is primarily teenagers from what I have gathered, me being one too. But there's no need to act like a bunch of dicks, especially when we're all trying to make CyberGamer, into something huge.
I will be on the forums as much as usual, and the same with Xbox LIVE, although I will no longer be participating in eSports as such, till I get back from Kapooka, do my IET (Initial Employment Training) and settle into a routine within the military, and that could be a couple of years.
Peace to all the guys I've had the awesome times with, and thanks to everyone with CyberGamer for making this the best community in Australia
Thanks,
Bryce Wilson
