Downloading now, will let you know what I think
EDIT:
Installed on a fresh copy of source. Removed all settings from registry/removed config etc.
Played with just my sensitivity/rest default from the gui.
I would remove most of the cmds from the autoexec as many people who have been playing the game for a while have their own autoexec. Maybe just the Sequential Gaming title/a few things instead of all the r_ cmds.
The Menu is pretty good, I really really like the background/colors. It looks quite crisp @ 1680x1050.
The text on the demoui is kinda tough to read. The black borders on the text are abit thick I think, at least at my resolution.
I like the feature of having a click to join X server button. For those in a source team with a server I think this will be really good.
Having the longer options menu, similar to the Cevo gui is quite useful to those people who lan/dont take configs etc.
The change quit button to "retire" made me lol abit. Similar to x7's gui having "return to RL"
The long and narrow connecting box was pretty cool, different to all the other gui's out there.
Ingame was meh. The only real change I could see (other than the autoexec removing stuff etc) was the chat box.
I would probably make the chat text 1 or 2 bigger. Having so many lines/small text was abit hard to see again.
I think it was 7-8 lines. Make it 5 with bigger text imo. At least 5 for money in warmod etc, but big enough just to glance at.
The deathnotices were really good, except that the gun was a little bit too translucent. On d2 with higher gamma, you cant even see it.
Just looks like "sql snyper *blank* lantern" for example. Make it slightly darker/give it a border, but dont make it freakin orange like menegui v3.
I really HATE the stock HUD color, so I would put another color in there, or give people a choice (just have the clientscheme.res files with different colors in the config to paste/rename).
All in all, a really nice gui, but still my favourite is the CAL gui, with the cevo gui installed over the top, then edit the sourcescheme.res to give a smaller net_graph (really depends on resolution what you make it), and edit the hudlayout.res to have 5 death notices.
happy to help with testing the next one if there is one
