Dont know much about tv's but the family one has just died.....

so im in the market for one, any suggestions.

if your looking to get a big 1 DO NOT GET A PLASMA, they are extremely bad and they burn if left on too long plus dont handle games and xboxes and that very well... if you want a big one i suggest a palsonic HDTV of some sort, they can get to around 2.5k and are pretty good.

You can probably get a decent tv for half that price. If your really keen u probably can get a 3d tv for that price but i wont go for them at this stage to early to buy one.

Plasma's don't burn anymore mate, have left mine on for a good few hours on pause by mistake and it ghosts for about a minute after then it is gone. LED's are too crisp, every show looks like it is filmed real cheap, probably would get used to it though I guess.

get a lcd over a plasma. main fact is 5 years from the time you buy it the picture quality will be the same on a lcd whereas the plasmas will fade. :S gl in the search mate.
