howdy all

ahhh basicly im posting to suggest some sort of a draft format to help push 1.3.

ive seen that new teams have been made to try and "spread" skill throught the teams of 1.3, dont mean to be rude, but not really. legendary eg, 3 of Aus's best players in a team where most of the players have played together at some point of time.

Im going to throw a spanner in the works and suggest a Draft.

we find out however many players are keen, list them, get captains and choose 1 by 1, hopefully then we will see a fair and equal distribution.

who gives a shit really if your not playing in the best team, we should really be focusing on the community atm not who can win the comp not many ppl care about.

ahh yer, my two bobs worth

peace and love

im just using it as a suggestion to spread the skills around differnet teams, not just stack 2 with top players and leave other teams to get their bums wipped, then not as many enjoy

I personally like this idea, and agree that with an even playing field there would be alot more interest kept in the game. Coz in all reality, who wants to be forced to move to Source?

My point of view is that I play the game to have fun, and I want to do it next to people I enjoy playing with.

Competition wise this sounds good in theory, but has no chance of happening ever. Think about the logistics, 48+ players needing rankings of some sort, moderation of teams, dealing with teams of people who do not get along in the community, work different hours ie uR and sgc member in same team, so on. Furthermore Paul's point, that people play games for different reasons, I myself sharing a similar opinion.

It sounds good but even if you were able to convince the whole DoD community the actual implementation would surely be more detrimental then DoD's current state.

On the other hand a 1-2 week competition held on an elected day, Sunday say, could possibly work. But we all play pugs anyway and as you've seen the sentiment is only marginally better then pub DoD.
