overclocking is awsome.

EVERY overclock/chip/mb is different. What CPU cooler have you got?
Ive seen similar chips at 3.5ghz with no issues on a fairly cheap air cooler.
Slap on a TRUE with push/pull and 4ghz no problem.

Read all the overclocking guides on OCN/OCAU etc, then come back with some more questions.

it would depend on where he lives and how good his mobo is also, i can't reach 4ghz on my pc due to it being a cheap ass mobo, and i live in the middle of qld, so temps in my room get over 35 usually before i have to turn the ac on........

my mobo is the pickiest sucker alive. I have to have the voltage PERFECT. 0.05 off and it bsods.
Also, you can have the same exact components, exact same CPU, exact same batch, and be 1ghz difference between the overclock (skill in OCing being equal).

Once you have done the research on overclocking your cpu, make sure you have cpuz, realtemp, linX and prime. These are essential tools when overclocking.

As stated by Lantern every chip is different. Some people can get great overclocks on extremely low voltage and others can't. It's all about trial and error. Finding a stable overclock can take you days through all the stress testing and tweaking.
