really doubt it... current PC specs are like terrible, from what ican remember
2gb 399mhz ram
Nvidia 9500 GT 1gb
core 2 duo e6400
HDD could possible be reused..

that'd be about all i could reuse though, the case is horrible.

aww, poor mot

Low CPU speed. Needs to be 3Ghz or higher really.
2Gb of ram is okay for xp/7 if you really trim down the OS/processes.
8800GTS is a decent card, but wont handle high resolutions.

My 8800gt, 4gb RAM, q6600 @ 3ghz was solid 250fps @ 1024x768

What would be the absolute best build you could possible get for $1050.00?

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, wasn't 100% sure on where to post it,

Anyways i'm building a new PC soon and was just wondering if it would be able to run CoD4 @ 250 FPS, on low settings 1440x900 res? possibly...
Specs include
CPU: AMD AM3 Phenom II X4 925
Mobo: Gigabyte MA78LMT-S2
RAM: 4GB Kit DDR3 1333 PNY
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 500GB
GPU: 1GB ATI Radeon HD5770
Case&PSU: Thermaltake V3 Black Edition w/ 450W TT Litepower PSU
ODD: Sony-NEC Optiarc AD-7240S

Cheers in advance
CPU: i5 750 - $248
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-H55M-D2H MB, Intel H55, Socket 1156, DDR3 (2200 MHz) - $110
Ram: Geil 4G(2x2G) DDR3 1600 - $125
HDD: Hitachi 7200rpm 1TB - $78
GPU: 1GB MSI 5770 OC edition - $189
Case: Antec Two Hundred Versatile Gaming Case V2 NO PSU - $63
PSU: CoolerMaster 550W Extreme Power Plus (ATX) - $73
ODD: Samsung 22X DVDRW Black SATA - $26

Total Cost = $912

Obviously you could save money by getting a cheaper 5770 rather then the oc edition. The only thing with this build that i was hesitant with is the case. If i were you I'd save up another $50 and buy a better case.

Curley - If budget was $1050 what i would do is change the 5770 to a GTX460 and upgrade the mobo.

If going for a SSD set up is to expensive have a look at running two WB Black Caviar's in raid 0.

Well asides his $900 price for his build SSD's wouldn't be too good since there quite on the expensive part. Also a lot of positive feedback in a lot of forums over the net that I have stumbled upon about people running Black Caviar's over Raptors or SSD's

His budget is too small for an ssd thats why its not included. if he wants to spend another 300 then go for one with a sandforce controller.
