Hey guys, recently ive been having many problems with my computer

Just wondering if you guys could help me find and solve problems with it:
i was wondering what kinda of programs i could use to scan for issue etc. I.e. one that runs a scan and provides me with a log so i can show you guys what is wrong
Some of my problems are: random cod4 crashes, random hon crashes, microphone screwing up in vent (which is solved by restarting vent, and then 5 minutes later it screws up again without me doing anything - very strange :S) , and just general slowness.

If it is feasible, and deffinately worth while perhaps you could run me throw the best way to reinstall windows 7, (without lossing files or programs)

Thanks for any help you give me guys. and if you need anything to analyze my position, ill post the data as soon as possible

If it recently started, the fastest way would probably be to system restore(you might lose some programs, possibly the ones causing the problem?)

My specs are:
CPU: AMD Phenom II 955 @ 3.88 (perhaps just un-doing the overclock might fix? but i prefer the faster speeds , maybe i overclocked wrongly?)
RaM: 4.0gb @ 1800hz (3.25gb usable)
MoBo: Gigabyte GA-790FXTa-UD5
GPU: ATI radeon 4870

Anything else you need to know?

Well you're problems seem to be sound related, so unless you haven't already done so, uninstalling/reinstalling drivers would be the first thing to try.

Do you have a soundcard like an X-Fi or anything?

TBH, if it has been building up, then backup and reformat.

Backup your precious files onto an external.
Reboot, insert windows CD, follow the prompts to install windows.

Also try network drivers, in windows 7 sound and network have links to each other for some reason.

After I came back from my cousins house the other day I kept getting stuttering in online games, turned out plugging in his G35's had somehow stuffed my sound drivers up, reinstalling fixed it.

Good luck.
