Alright guys upgraded my computer a hell of a lot yesterday and starting fresh, but th OS will not install. i have 2 full OS's: XP, Win7.

but i get to a certain point and the machine will just crash and try to do it all over again with no success.

if someone gives me the right solution first. there will be a 1 month of premium in it for you.

So post away cheers. (I came to the PC sction cos the xbox community will be immature about it)

Well, there could be a problem or 2

1. Might need to repair the master boot record
2. Could be a hard drive fault
Or you could just buy a new cheap hard drive for the time being, could save a lot of time :p

get a $40 cheapy drive and install on it, easiest fix, of course, if that fails, you might wanna check the rest of the hardware, which brings me to this. what were u running, what did you upgrade.

ye the ram was in the wrong slots.

but that hasnt fixed it.

Alright you know when you install windows 7 it copys files and then expands them?
it restarts to load windows. then it gets to the starting windows bit where the little dots make the windows symbol and then the pc makes like a clicking noise and shuts off

my friend is coming over later with his PSU and GPU to see if it is the problem.

i highly doubt it mate

take out one stick of ram, and try that, also try the other stick, could be a dead stick of ram, also try reseating the cpu

this all assumes you have wired it correctly too
