So, the classic Driver series is again in development by Ubisoft for the first time on Xbox 360, responsible for some of my favourite games from PS1 and the original Xbox. They originals had realistic handling, awesome graphics, free roam driving, excellent damage models, sick soundtrack, decent story line and awesome police chases.
The game is set to bring those elements to a modern environment and be set in the one location, San Francisco which featured in the first game. There is over 200 kilometres of roads and landmarks along with hopefully the same hilly areas to launch cars off. There is also 120+ licensed vehicles, from classic muscle to modern exotics all of which can be obliterated in collisions too.
D:SF has a new feature however, called "Shift" and it basically allows you to swap vechicles as your driving, along with influencing other cars of the road via some sort of mind control. Thats a bit unbelieveable and im unsure if this will play a part in the single player, but it seems more suited to multiplayer powereups which has 9 game modes and should make for a good online game.
They will also have a comprehensive replay system return, something the originals did really well and watching you bash through dense traffic was a highlight, which you can now share over XBL.

I first played Driver on the PS1, then again on the original Xbox. It was a beast game then and it looks like a beast game again. The replay system would be good to see again.
