The problem is that it likely force you to 10 gate to defend this rush (obviously I can't test it, but it is likely).. People tend to scout at 9, which if you were to do a normal gate - by the time you scout it, it will be too late to counter. I don't think its fair for players to have to scout any earlier since it would be a macro hit just for some strat that is otherwise near unstoppable if you don't do a specific BO to counter it properly.
We will have to see, but if that is the case, then there is a problem. Because otherwise this means Protoss have to block their base in (stupid to do since muta harass will **** you up now) or have to spam Pylons at the entrance and keep cancelling them which would be a mineral hit.
BTW, Zerg are the reactionary race by nature. They barely have any "hard counter" units in their arsenal, they're just "general" units. So you will always have to adapt to the hard counter units that Protoss/Terran have. But that is just in terms of unit composition, in terms of strats they're equal. Protoss have to adapt to fast expands or else they get out macro'd, they have to adapt to Roach pushes etc, just like Zerg have to adapt to 2 gates/whatever.
By stating that Zerg can ONLY react, means that Zerg can only defend their bases and that's all.
