hi, i was wondering if someone could help me out with my ping issues!
My internet is fine, it is fast like normal, and youtube and stuff works fine, but when i try to play cod4/css or any other game, i get about 250 ping when i should be getting about 50. Ive tried everything i can think of, and its still the same. Ive called my ISP and they were no help, ive reset my modem, ended any unnecessary processes and the list goes on. The only last thing i can think of is if i have accidentally downloaded some sort of virus that is stealing my bandwidth. ANY HELP GUYS?!?!?!

run a tracert via command prompt to the servers ip address, you might be getting routed through america or something. Do a ping test as well to see that its not just game servers

ok cool, but how do i run a tracert via command prompt to the servers ip address?

get the servers ip addres you are conecting to, via xfire or whatever, then go to command prompt and type in tracert "ipaddress"
then press enter
just copy and paste what comes up here

so the ping is fine when you trace it, but not when you play, id say its a virus or isp?
