I know there are a few of you who still use the IME 3.0/1.1a like geary/motion etc.
Also sensuki was asking about it the other day so i finally (at 4:30 am) decided to do a quick write up on how to fix the random scrolling that is the bane of the intelli's.
Note: I am TERRIBLE at writing, and my camera is about 8 years old and has problems with focusing.

This guide will show you how to:
Fix the intellimouse's infamous scroll wheel glitch where it randomly scrolls.
Improve the feel of the side buttons
Get rid of most of the rattling coming from the mouse.

You wil need
Knife
Tape
Some paper
Screwdriver (philips head)

First thing to do is pry the mousefeet off the mouse, by sticking the edge of the blade under the skate. Dont worry, it wont damage the feet aslong as your gentle with it. Put them aside to be reattached later.

(disregard the tape, that is there from when I did this previously).

First the mouse wheel; take the wheel out of its socket/plastic holder.
Then take a peice of paper and fold it up quite tightly several times. Cut it into a small square. I taped around the paper to hold it together.
Insert this peice in under the curved black plastic peice that fits on the axle of the scroll wheel. Push it under with the end of a screwdriver/knife so that it pushes the peice up and ontop the scroll wheel axle more tightly. This is to create more friction and stop the wheel from slipping.

To improve the feel of the side buttons, simply bend SLIGHTLY outwards the small plastic prong thats sticks out, against the inside of the mouse. Be careful not to bend too much or you will snap em off.

To fix most rattling in the mouse (other than the buttons and wheel), simply screw the 2 screws affixing the sensor pcb to the frame slightly tighter than they are stock.
2nd is to stop the rear LED from moving around on its posts.
Simply push it down then tape over it.

Also you can add abit of packing tape/paper whatever you want to the rear if your not keen on the big bright red LED.
For me, there is now a very slight reddish glow.

At the end of it, your IME 3.0 has gone from amazing to drop dead gorgeous.
xfire me if you cant see the pictures properly/i missed shit/bad spelling/need help/etc etc.

I didn't like the feel of the deathadder and the drivers were pissing me off, the transition to this mouse was pretty easy since the deathadder was moulded based on it. I also don't like being 'forced' to use 1800 DPI since it tracks better.

Oh sweet, this will help for my friend. Also, would it make much difference between 450DPI and 1800? Because on my desktop 1800 is WAY WAY to sensitive and I <3 450 DPI NAO!! Sorry for reviving :o
