Hey guys, this afternoon I started up my computer, and for some reason the display mode was set to 800x600, which I soon changed back up to my normal resolution (1280x1024). When I log off and back on, the resolution goes to 800x600 again.
This is not the main problem, but something that I think might be linked.

The main problem is:
Quite a few of my files have disappeared (from about a 6 day time period) on my C: drive, namely CoD4 demos, these are currently the only files I have confirmed missing.
My primary HDD is a Western Digital Caviar 300gb.
My Operating System is Windows 7 Ultimate x86

I have currently tried rebooting (duh), running a disk recovery tool, logging off, and turning UAC on (I turned this off yesterday, could be linked).

Everytime I start my computer or log in, the graphics is set to 800x600 resolution.
I can change it, but it's fcking annoying.
