But in all seriousness, i used to have the exact same problem kinda, to over come this problem ever time i reformatted windows i plugged in a old shitty cd rom in which i could boot the disk off, for some reason the current cd rom didnt like the disc, probs was a bong and didnt like to work!!!!

Definitely sounds like a CD-ROM problem to me. They're cheap, and easy to find, so it's also pretty easy to rule out.

If you have an old computer, rip the drive out of that, or borrow a mate/family member's computer for the drive. If the drive is ruled out as the problem, it maybe worth taking to a repair shop, if no one here can offer any more help.

CD drive sounds ****ed. Also could be the harddrive(s) having bad sectors or something.
