Hey there will pretty much i got some x 530 speakers today and i believe they all work fine because i test each one they all work.
Im using a auzentech x-fi predule 7:1 soundcard by the way.
Yet when I go a use the speakers in itunes or wmp or in a game or watching a movie they only work in 2:1. yet when i test them in the soundcard control panel etc they all come out with sound.

Kinda unrelated but are these speakers any good cause they are kinda old.(i wanna get them) Also since your music is stereo I think it will only work in 2.1, the x540's have 'matrix mode' which plays the sound across all speakers. Might be able to do this throught software, not sure.

could get something like that to plug into the front speaker jack then use that little rca adaptor thing they give you with it to hook up the three 3.5mm jacks

wouldnt be true surround but it would be playing out of all the speakers

3.5mm to rca adaptor

sorry about that link :s

but yeah you could use this to plug into the front 3.5mm then use that 3 x 3.5mm to rca adaptor they provide with it and you shpuld get sound coming out of all the speakers

wont be true surround but it'll be making noise

cheap one off ebay
