Hello,

As you guys are aware the sof2 server is hosted by cubos gaming. I received this via email last night and I thought I'll post this.

Cubos Gaming will be shutting down game hosting services effective 31st of October at midnight AEST.

We will continue to host voice services, and there will be an IP address change prior to the end of October for these services.

It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to retire our dedicated servers and cease hosting game services at the end of this month.

The writing has been on the wall for the GSP industry for a long time now, but our exit from the business has come much sooner than we anticipated for a number of reasons.

Chief amongst the immediate issues is the announcement from Activision that Call of Duty: Black Ops will be hosted only by GameServers.com, as well as the unviably low prices being offered by Hypernia for Medal of Honor - as a smaller, "boutique" provider we simply cannot compete under those conditions.

We will, however, continue to host voice services, and look forward to relaunching voice servers under a new brand and with integrated control panel support down the line, as well as expanding the number of our supported voice services.

For those customers who have credited their services past the 1st of November, we will be refunding for the period of the service we cannot provide - if you have paid in advance via direct deposit, please send us an email with your bank details and we will arrange this in the coming 2 weeks.

We thank all of our current and past clients for their support and custom, particularly the communities with which we had long standing arrangements and we will continue to watch the progress of competitive PC gaming with great interest.

All the best,
Vaughan Reid and Jonathan Ihlein

Could be but as the email states it due to the low costs of the opposition in which cubos cannot compete at that level.

In saying that, hypernia gaming does anyone know of the quality of servers and more importantly there help desk support?

I maybe somebody could recommend a decent host please.

thanks
