Ok this is how to make your internet better for gaming.
Things to check b4 you do this:
Do a speedtest and a pingtest and keep the links for both
Look at ur pingtest and if theres packet loss then probs best not to try this
Must have ADSL2+ connection
REASON BEING:
If you have slow adsl2+ connection meaning your far from your exchange then this will make your connect unstable and may cause drop outs. This also may occure with packact loss on pingtest so make sure to check b4 doing so.
Probs best to have:
telstra as ISP
ISP (who arnt with TELSTRA)
Now the reason for this is you can do this on bigpond.com with ease. For those who arnt with telstra then you can just call your ISP and ask to turn INTERLEAVING OFF. If you don't know what this means yourself and want a better understanding off it then please research it on google.
So call them up and ask for it to be turned off. ISP such as TPG may not have a ******* clue wat this is an im sorry but i cant help with this
For
Internode users, login to your "My Internode" from their website.
Go to Agile ADSL2+ Profiles and select any of the low latency ones. If you are unable to over 800KB/sec you should select the ADSL1 low ping one as it is the most stable of the "low ping" profiles. If you still have issues, the ADSL1 Standard profile would probably be best.
For people (With telstra as ISP)
You can call telstra aswell or can do these simple steps on bigpond.com
Sign in > Manage My account > My Plan > Change my line Config > Choose Fast option
Now afta probs 1hr - 24hrs speeds will have changed etc and ur internet may drop out. once u have done this, reset ur net and reboot the shit up. do a speedtest/pingtest and compare and post here.
REMEMBER, if u are having problems with ur connection with interleaving off u can always turn it back on so dont worry.
Thanx guys, hope this helped
