I asked Internode if they could turn it off, they replied and email with;

"Unfortunately we are unable to remove the interleaving on your service. Your ADSL service is on the Ultra platform which behind the scenes is serviced by an Optus DSLAM at the exchange.

Unfortunately our wholesaler Optus does not offer us the option of turning off interleaving."

What is this bullshit? Why can't they turn it off?

wouldnt bother took them 30+ minutes to tell me if mine was on or off
they had no idea what i was even talking about for a solid 10 minutes

yeah i think the only isp that i have had no problems over the phone are internode.
and tpg seem to be unable to provide adsl2+ with interleaving off they can provide adsl 1 speeds with it off but tbh going from 13-8 ping isnt worth losing 14mbps. i have no idea why and neither do they but i have had it tuned off 3 times with telstra once with internode and once with dodo all losing about 1-2% dl speed gaining 1-2% upload and decreasing ping by about 30-60% all being stable
