Welcome to the SoundBlaster CyberGamer QuakeLive Champions League!
Thanks to SoundBlaster and CyberGamer we are proud to announce the QuakeLive Champions League. The premier duelling league for Australian QuakeLive! We hope to bring you well run competitions for players and top class coverage for spectators. Our priority is helping you fit easily into this new competition, so we've coded a fully working league and ladder system to handle challenges, map choices, and results. The Champions league will run consecutive competitions, each going for 5 weeks, making it a short competition with quick results and allowing for a turnover of players.
Details of the Champions League:- There will be three divisions among the Champions League. 8 players in division 1, 8 players in division 2, and 16 players in division 3 (two groups of 8). These division numbers are subject to change if the demand is great enough. There will also be an open ladder not available for participants of the Champions League- allowing for newer players to join and compete.
- The format will be round robin into single elimination finals.
- There is a prize purse of $750 plus hardware from SoundBlaster per season.
- Players will be sorted into divisions through a panel of experienced and active QuakeLive players. We will do our best with this.
- Players are expected to be available to complete two matches a week before Sunday. Your matches will be scheduled to two 'Match days' a week. These match days are your base time to play your opponent if you cannot find another time you can both play. You may play any time during the week if you and your opponent can co-operate to schedule a new time. One of the match days will be Sunday. We will run a poll for each division to find when the second match day will be.
- All matches are best of 3, with finals being best of 5
- We will do our best to work with the players to organise one 'Match of the week'. A casted match between two top players or rivals which the community can watch on Sunday at 8:30pm.

Elim elim pick pick left over is the decider. Home player elims first. All home/away is randomly generated.
Note: All players must sort out their own way of joining premium servers. Either through having an upgraded account or by having a friend invite them.
Attitude and sportsmanship:
Players must have good sportsmanship in and out of game. Smileys/binds must not exceed 8 characters and must not be spammed. This rule is determined under admins discretion.
Servers/Ping:
All matches must be played on private servers. Servers spawned by players must give the password to an admin upon request. The location is determined by the server which gives the least difference in ping, regardless of which player has the lower ping. In the result that both players have the same difference in either server then Perth and Sydney are given priority over Adelaide. (Sorry Adelaidians!)
Finals:
The top 4 of each division (or in div3 case group) will go through to the finals. In the event of a tie the player with the biggest map and then frag difference will go through. Finals will be single elimination. Ideally we want to cast the finals so we will ask you to try and organise these at prime time, with a lot of notice so we can create some hype.
Relegation:
At the end of each season the bottom 4 and top 2 from each group will be transfered. 2 application entries will also be accepted into division 1 and 2. In division 3 the bottom 8 will be relegated and will not be eligible for the upcoming season to allow for new applicants.
Replays:
All demos must be kept for 7 days and must be available for upload upon request by an admin. (cg_autoaction 1 - autorecord) It is recommended that all division 1 players upload their demos after their matches to allow for the community to watch them; this also goes for division 2 and 3 players if they wish.
Spectators:
Spectator(s) are permitted to watch these games if both players agree on the allowing the spectator. Spectator(s) must leave the game upon request by either player. Admins are permitted to spectate.
Pauses:
Players are allowed 1 timeout per map. Any more timeouts will result in forfeiting the map.
Admins can also pause the game if the player starts having problems. Admins pauses can be for a maximum of 5 minutes. The pause reason is negotiated from a player to the admin in game, at the admin/referee's discretion to accept/deny the reason should it not be worthy. Please notify an admin if you think you may need an admin to be present.
Forfeits:
Players have 15 minutes from the scheduled time to ready-up in-game. This is slightly flexible under your opponents and the admins discretion. If both players fail to organise their match and neither player has made an effort both will be given a forfeit.
Forfeiting matches will result in possible removal from the competition and disclusion from future competitions. Please if you feel you cannot play your match contact an admin and your opponent and maybe we can work something out. Forfeiting finals where you would usually receive a prize will result in not receiving the prize.
Warm-up
As stated under forfeits, players must start their match within 15 minutes of the scheduled time. Between maps players are allowed 5 minutes of warm-up. This is flexible under your opponent and the admins discretion.
Drop-outs
Understandably players are occasionally met with problems which will keep them from playing multiple matches or the rest of a competition. If this is the case please talk to an admin about it and we can help. Drop-outs may result in a late inclusion or byes.
Lagging/disconnections
The players are given one time-out per map. They can also request an admin if they suspect they will be lagging bad. If a player disconnects and is in the lead within the first 5 minutes the map will be replayed. If a player disconnects and is not in the lead, or disconnects after the first 5 minutes- bad luck or not -the map will be forfeited. This rule is flexible under your opponents and the admins discretion.
Aliasing/Account lending
If it is determined that a player is aliasing under a different account than their known alias, or if a player is playing for someone else/lending their account for someone to play for them then the players will both be removed from all competitions and banned from future competitions. Any admin impersonating will result in a ban.
Cheating
Cheating will result in a personal ban.
Note: Any rules that are broken will result in punishment determined under the admins discretion. Anything which defames CG or the sponsors will result in removal from the competition and a ban.
Admins:
We are currently looking for mature, helpful and willing admins to aid the CyberGamer team. Enquire through an application. (Staff Application at the bottom of the page)
The current list is:
- Haymo
- Pandan
