Okay just thought I'd start a thread so we can discuss and review aa3 so far (just take in mind it may still be beta and a new patch will be released to fix a lot of things) but untill then.............
this way we can determine what needs to be fixed/replaced or put in if anybody is deciding to make a 'pro-mod' not that I really care I'm happy to play "AS IS" all depends on how big the aa3 community will become in the next couple of months and how many people are for it.

Movement: Movement is alright.. seems a fair bit choppy though, it is slowed down alot from aa2, but it does seem to be more tactical.
-you cant spam crouch and you can't jump!
not too fussed about the jumping... I do like the Vaulting however.. on pipeline vaulting has allowed me to get to places etc that you couldnt in aa2 example: climbing through a window etc

Prone leaning is pretty gay in my opinion... don't like that at all... not to mention being prone is really bad........... you move so bloody slow whilst prone it's not funny
sprinting is actually quite good, you run faster in aa3 then you do in aa2 only downside is you have an energy bar, so you can run for a good 15seconds, then have to wait to 'rest' before doing it all again, it's not really that bad though.

Shooting: hmm... well... ok...
shooting without your ironsights up = accuracy of a drunken parrot.
you can pull ironsights up and go into some focus mode, which for a short period of time gives you alot of accuracy but cuts out your sound etc

Reloading takes longer!!!
good news... well frag grenades are almost instant swap straight off the bat.. no long waiting time to swap from a gun to a nade (as far as ive noticed)
Meelee = GAY. if you run outta ammo heres an idea : run full speed towards your enemy and spam the meelee option and 1 hit K.O him out for the win!

Misc: there are no Death messages eg. "player was killed by player2's grenade"
You bascially have to identify the enemy if he has been killed or seriously wounded if you walk up close to one... bascially just shoot till he drops, then put a couple more into him to finish the deal - dont want his team medic healing him back up again do ya?

Also there is no OBJ messages... so you have no idea if the enemy team has capped exterior valve etc... I actually reckon having death - obj messages turned OFF during a actual MATCH would be kinda cool, imagine how much more tactical you'd have to be not knowing if you've actually downed an enemy from a spam grenadee or a spam fire. Not knowing if they are planning on hitting up all 3 Valves or going straight for PC on pipeline.

could make some interesting strats.

Tbh I actually like it. firefights feel more realistic which is pretty cool... I guess
but yeah I like it and hope that the few bugs/annoying shit gets fixed by the devs in the upcoming release.

anyway thats all for now.... anybody else care for some input?

I quite happy with how it's turned out, some things are different from aa2 but in a good way.

No death messages/no objective messages will just make matches more intense and now people won't be able to dot spam you to death.

I'm sure people won't like it but this isn't your regular fps, it's realism based and if you don't like it then don't play it.

How hard is it to know when you've killed someone, I've yet to have no death messages get me killed when I've played it and I wasn't being overly cautious either.

The only time it gets hairy is when you're lobbing a grenade or if you don't have the best view on your target, the goo thing about no death messages is that there seems to be less nade spam.

I think it's more codstyle but it isn't as easy to land a hit.

-forgot to mention for your health you have bodyparts - eg get shot in the leg - will make it harder to run/walk

reading neon's(gaybo's) post, i agree, i like the new style of gameplay. Its a new game not a patch so of course its gonna have a different feel to it, dunno why some people are so worried about some features of aa2 not being in the new game, as its said many times its a new game fully rebuilt from the ground up. The no death messages is a good thing, makes it more interesting. Throwing a blind nade in real combat your not gonna look in top left of your sight to get a message that u killed someone, and aa has stated they are aiming for realism and not just another senseless fps.

The realism side of things is what drew me to aa in the first place because most other games that I played were run and gun, I still like run and gun but it's good to have a game that's heavily based in realism to play.

exactly, the game is aimed at a different fps audience. Its why i also like playing ARMA, because its so very different from 95% of your regular fps.

That's one thing that I really like because some of the fps' that I played competitively in the past had 2 injury levels and I've missed it.

In Rogue Spear and Raven Shield you could get mildly injured and you'd start to drag your leg and then you could get really injured and be really really slow.

You're a sped, stop using a bad argument.

I can't help it if people have bad opinions and can't adjust to something that's not hard to get used to.
