Hey guys,

Completely reinstalled windows 7.. fresh format.

Downloaded steam client... go to update and the update gets to between 10-20% then just hangs. Looses all network activity and doesn't move.

I have deleted the clientblob file and reinstalled twice. Any idea's..

Firewall is disabled, running in administrator mode, UAC is disabled and all ports opened.

**** I used to have this problem ages ago, can't remember how I fixed it... I am fairly sure it was a program I had installed that was ******* it up (it wasn't AV or a firewall).

If I remember, Il post, lol :X

might be your guys anti-virus, seems to me there are a few that interfere with Steam downloads.

Apparently XFire can also much around with Steam.
