Counter-Strike: Source - Tips and Much More for Beginners By James .

In Counter-Strike Source, there are many different game mod. I will give you a brief idea on same of the main and most used game mods now.
DeathMatch (dm) – DeathMatch is one of my favourite mods. It's great for the mind and working on reflexes/aim. DeathMatch is an auto respawning mod for css. When you join, a menu will pop up and you will be able to select your guns. After you've selected your guns, then go and start killing people. If you want to enable your guns menu again and reselect your guns, you will be required to type 'guns' int chat. Remember though, you respawn as soon as you die so be ready for action always.
GunGame (gg) – In gg, you will start on a gun (level 1). Everytime you kill somebody, you will progress a level. When you progress a level, you get a new gun. The winning level (level somebody reaches to win the game and reset the map) varies between different servers. I personally don't enjoy playing gg, but it can be fun if you're bored and feeing like a change from your regular source.
Warmod – Warmod is a mod that has been created for competitive matches such as lans, competitions, general pugs (5v5 closed server matches with anyone), general team scrims (5v5 closed server matches with 2 teams, 5 on each team)., ladder matches etc. Most servers with Warmod will have a password on them.
Surf – Surf isn't really a mod, but it's a style of gameplay where you're basically flying (surfing in the air, hence the name). There isn't much to say on surf, it is a popular style of play, but there really isn't much to it other then flying (surfing) around the map.
Normal – There is of course normal servers when you're just playing your normal, basic css. There's no extra add-ons or modifications to normal, you just play and try to get some frags, practice your aim etc.

Many professional players will tell you ways in which people can become better in the aim, clue and game play. To a certain degree this is true but small things such as gear, sensitivity, resolution, crosshair scale, left or right hand are all personal preferences in the game today. It's using what you know works for yourself day in day out which will help you get better.
Gear for yourself is preference whether it's a Microsoft mouse which you are used to using, or whatever it's a Razer Mamba for example, using gear day in day out gets your hands used to pushing what keys where or moving where. Many people go out and buy the best gear they can find which ends up being some of the most expensive which can be a waste of money. I will show you some really reliable and affordable gear in which will help you save a bit of money if you can't afford it. All gear prices are a approximate estimation do your research.
Mouse:
Razer Death-adder.
Cost: $40-80 AUS

Mouse Pad:
Steel Series qcK.
Cost: $20-50 AUS

Headset:
Steel Series Siberia v2.
Cost $120-180 AUS

Getting used to sensitivity is vital to the game of today, weather you are attending a LAN or just playing at home. Sensitivity can make any player do some things that aren't just what they want to do, so I good idea is getting your sensitivity right from the start and not changing it too much throughout your game. Also resolution is another thing which is all preference most things such as your sensitivity, resolution, crosshair are all preference as long as you use them day in day out and don't change them too much on a regular basis, you get used to it and game play becomes much easier.
A lot of people say you should use "Left Hand" in game because there are many left side corners to peek, once again this may be true but it is all about your preference whatever you think you like better is what you should use.

AIM PRACTICE
A lot of people talk about how to aim practice, but the most effective way is doing things like, Ecoslaw, Death Match, and Muscle Memory. After talking to some people I've made up a routine in which you can follow or make your own.
All download links are below for Maps.

This Aim-Practice routine should be done day in day out, starting with Ecoslaw, doing around 100 Kills per weapon. So we start off with the USP, then the Glock, then the Deagle then move to the Smg's and after that move onto your rifles. I've found that if you find yourself being a awper or a rifler I found doing another 100 kills on top of your other 100kills with your weapon (awp or rifle) will improve yourself. So after doing Ecoslaw which ive found takes me about 20minutes move onto Death Match. There are many Death Match servers around but I've found that the GamingAU.net Cloud Death match - FFA Server is one of the best Death Match servers around and the details to the server are connect 113.212.96.214:27015 if you want to use it, but any Death Match server will do fine. So, you start off with your rifles once again, doing one game focusing on the rifle so you end up doing around 3 games (1 for M4A1, 1 for AK47, 1 for Awp) you can do more if you want but like I said it's just my routine. After Death Match I've found that Muscle Memory is much easier for me, I either do this before Ecoslaw or After Death Match or Both at times but its good whenever I've found, so spending approximately 20minutes on this is about right just doing everything which the video below says. Once again this routine is mine but feel free to use it or make your own based on this one, this should be done day in day out to get your aim nice and sharp for playing those important matches.

Also another thing which helps people in game play is watching demos, many people underestimate this but it has helped me and many other players I know in very many things. Below there is a list of Australian, European and American Source Players. Obviously you will need the OLD COUNTER STRIKE SROUCE to watch these demos and the link is also below.

Ive played on ecoslaw/tecoslaw and kozzys/d'lights mm maps for a while... After it all id say that playing deathmatch is the best 'allrounder' training. Aiming is one thing, but movement prediction of live players is more important then the training youl get versing bots.

But if ya wanna use ecoslaw in a created game, id suggest using the "net_fakelag 30" command once sv_cheats is on. This will keep the proper hitbox consistancy with online matches.

tbh tho... juansource.com ftw
