I noticed that JBizz was a bit peeved at the fact his opponent was using Spain (which in my opinion is not right)

So i created this thread, let have an open mature discussion about the issue at hand

Should CG ban certain stared teams

I believe yes they should, both the POA and ACL H2H have banned 5 stars teams, POA use 4 stars or below and ACL 4 1/2 stars and below, the reason behind this is so that players ability is the determination of who is better and not the attribute the players of certain teams have.

I read in the other thread that you guys have been doing this for a while, so maybe the baton has shifted or maybe its time for a change as their are alot of players now on this ladder, lets try keep the ladder entertaining, cause in playing in the POA H2H with 4 stars teams was more fun and challenging and required my attention for the full game time and im also eagerly awaiting the ACL tourney as well, whereas playing with 5 stars i clock off in patches

I believe that CG should enforce a ban of teams with 5 and 4 1/2 stars as well as international teams as they are underrated because to often weaker players are winning because they scored with Lampard from range when a shot isnt available or Drogba from a header when the cross is the only option or running down the whole field with C Ronaldo or Messi when they see space

And to be honest im over this im not going to back down from this ladder but its starting to become broing, 4 star teams or lower should be enforced, there a no clear domineering teams at this level and there a lots of good team who all play very different styles of soccer. By placing a ban on the higher teams true skill comes out as the skill sets of the players of the 4 stars teams arent through the roof and players would actually have to earn there goals

If the Miami Heat are banned on the NBA ladder when they are the 4th best team, why arent teams banned on this ladder

Thoughts, opinions, are you for a ban on teams or against it

I don't play FIFA so I can't relate to the stress however Cybergamer aims to create competitive rulesets, but yeh, I don't know anything about the game..

I really dont care if anyone uses a 5 star team. I will still use my 4.5 and 4 star team, and not complain when I loose. Not to mention most of the time the result is the other way around.

The onlt team i reallyt care about is Spain thats basically using an all star team, other then that i dont mind. I wouldn't want to use 1/2 star teams thats just shit

I havent Really played competitive FIFA so I wouldnt know.
But Spain is overpowered.

only reason i am ranting is because with spain the players are so "prestigeous" their AI attributes contribue alot more than what say a team like arsenal or bayern would.

its just so frustrating that, i had most of the possesion the whole game, my opponent had a shitload of oppitunities and for SPAIN to not win atleast 6-0 i give my hat off to my goaly, i moved the ball better, read the ball better but those stupid little things in fifa 11 like player attributes and what not really comes into play when plaything the BEST team in the game to say a known team but no ******* 99% chemistry SPAIN.

it just pisses you off, you play fair like most people on this site do... come to CG, put weeks and weeks into getting there, putting the effort into getting into finals etc. then to be knocked out by a team that anyone could dominate with when the match was virtually sealed in the early stages on the 2nd, it really does dissapoint you because there is ABOSULTELY NO FUN OR COMPETITIVENESS in the game last night.....

to be honest i would rather forfeit and never play on the ladder again than play an international side, its just plain wrong... there is a reason you dont see club sides verse international sides, because club sides would get smashed, international sides just have the "BEST PLAYERS IN THAT GIVEN COUNTRY".

its the same as cod ffs, they removed weapons to make the game balanced... right now international teams being able to be chosen creates this unbalanced game because NOT EVERYONE WANTS TO PLAY AS A ******* UNREALISTIC SUPERSTAR SQUAD, some people actually appreciate soccer, the way play is meant to be built up and they way you should be rewarded for that! not just ******* hey lets kick it to torres and run run run run run oh wait kick into keeper rebound david villa goal.

like david has stated up above, poa use 4 star and below and acl have introduced a 4 1/2 star rule...

personally i think its ******* great to play with 4 1/2 teams, no drogba, no villa, no messi, no anelka, no lampard and the list goes on.

you can actually have a quality game of fifa with your opponent because your players cant do "unrealistic" shit.

so please, dont try tell me im bad because im not... ive been playing this game long enough to realise that its gone on far enough and a real problem is arrising and something needs to be fixed up, at-least give it a trial... it wont hurt anyone will it? oh apart from the spain users ofcourse... well they clearly cant play the game anyway if they must use spain so dont know why this is still an issue, rules should have been in place before this season!

to be honest i dont see the harm in it, unless all you 'big boys' use international or 5 star teams? HA

Jbizz, Mankind uses arsenal and I use a few different teams with some 4 and a half star ones among them.

Your solution is extremely short sighted. If we were to ban 5 star teams because people think that spain are overpowered, it would simply replace them with the strongest 4 and a half star teams and we'd be back here in 2 months having the same conversation about banning them and so on until eventually there'd be no teams left.

Spain are not the all-powerful team you seem to have built them up to be in your head. They have no pace out wide and their midfielders are all relatively weak over the ball. EVERY team in the game has it's weaknesses, you just need to look for them and learn to exploit them.

As for International teams being so much stronger than clubs teams, this is again wrong. Club teams are put together using any player they want with a playing style in mind whilst international teams have to make do with the players that were born there. Clubs sign every player they own with an idea in mind as to how they can contribute to their playing style and improve their club's play.

The ladder is perfectly balanced and fair the way it is, there are people up the top who use 4 and a half star teams and you don't see them on here having a rant. The only time the ladder would become unbalanced or unfair would be if we were to start banning teams because then players would have a genuine reason to complain if the team that best suited their game style was banned and they were forced to play other people using teams that don't suit their playing style.

i really cant be ****ed replying anymore, i can tell nothing is gonna happen... just keep the broken ruleset then and when ACL and POA go bigger than fifa on CG you will wonder why this was my last season for fifa on CG.

you wanted a competitive competition, there is nothing competitive about a 4 1/2 star team vsing spain, ill tell you that... you cant express your players full potential because of all the 85-90 overall defenders and they can just walk on by no problem with 2 players torres/villa, its just plain ****ed, there was no build up from my opposition last night at all, just all ping pong shit and lucky rebounds and AI glitches!

The only OP player in the game is C Ronaldo honestly he can run a field and no one can keep up with him and his is also deadly infront of the goal

those players look familiar, maybe cas practicaly all of them are in the fantasy teams?!

i wouldnt mind if certain teams were banned but im certainly not complaining about them being in use. it doesnt matter what the team is you still have matches where you dominate the shit out of posession, have a shitload of good shots and their keeper seems invincible and then some player just gets tackled and majically regains the ball everytime running though 2-4 defenders and scores a terrible goal. you just have to make the best of the teams available.

like i mean, even if there was just a rule that both players MUST AGREE on both using 5 star teams or any high class teams such as spain, real, barca i would be happy.

but this isnt the case...

Who the **** would play Arsenal V Spain in the first place its obvious that your putting yourself at a disadvantage from the get go. When I played him I just used France and dominated him its your fault that you lost the game not the rules fault.
Honestly couldn't care less what happens here but there is always going to be a few dominant teams whether you play with only 4/4.5 star teams it a fact of life.

i like the idea of the 4 star teams and lower, would bring a lot more skill into the game.
