Looking for some feedback on what the best rates for this game are, at the moment I'm running at rate 30k, cmdrate 60, updaterate 60 and interp on 0.033 and in a 24 player server I idle on 0 choke but fluctuate between about 0-10. The problem is I still get that occurrence where I shoot people in the head with the sniper rifle, the blood shows up on their model but the shot doesn't register server side.

The rates I'm using help a lot in smoothing the game up but I lack consistent reg, halp?

edit: oh and I've found the only good thing the ati 4850 is good for, avoiding mat_queue_mode 2 crashes.

30000/66/66 interp at 0.033 is fine as long as it's not going orange/yellow in net_graph

Depends on what servers you are getting bad reg on, ga pub servers are normally shit.

I get too much choke with an update rate of 66, it gets to about 22kbs down and then doesn't get any higher, something to do with Internodes servers not giving enough bandwidth?

While with 60, which rounds down to 59 if I'm correct never peaks past around 19-20kbs.

haven't played in a while but changing cl_interp_ratio ( i think is the cmd) to half of what it normally is on, helps make it click exactly where you are aiming by making interpolation not occur (computer guessing and predicting where the opponent is moving as opposed to where they are moving)

I was under the impression that interp was controlled by (interp_ratio / updaterate) regardless of settings.

TF2 servers also have tickrates locked at 66 unlike CS.

edit: 66 is really 67 ( 1000 / 15 )
