Not even joking, when it eventually dies (3 years strong so far), I am replacing it with another Ultra Flat.

I had one, down side is they get dirty really easy lol, exspecially if you get sweaty hands, and the buttons are closer together than the average keyboard, so if you have big fingers, you may find yourself hitting the wrong buttons soemtimes, however they do last, mine finally shit itself 3 months ago lol, so i bought a Razer Lycosa, haven't look back since, it also matches my DeathAdder good board and i recommend it.

Also you wont find a gaming keyboard for $30, you will need to spend more than that if you want anything remotely decent.

anyways, Lycosa Pro's and Cons. (grabbed from a random site)

Pro's
Contemporary design
Excellent tactile feel
Backlit keys
USB and audio extensions
Media controls

Cons
Attracts finger prints (not that bad, only where my palm rests)
Poor audio auality (thats what a sound card is for, so not really needed)
No backlighting brightness controls (they aren't that bright, shouldnt need adjusting)
Requires software installation (this is a con? you can tweak it to your liking, and marco's)

Razer Arctosa if you're looking for something cheaper.. Although I know of people who critisize Razer's build quality.

I've used a G15 and a Lycosa and none of their special features are actually that great. Just go with the cheap Logitech one, the only thing you'd be missing is the backlit keys (and possibly the G15s LCD screen, which is a bit of a joke anyway).

razer is all marketing hype

had a 1st edition g-15 (blue backlight) since they were released about 5 years ago now. try a g-11 same build quality without the screen and less keys to macro. but you will notice a big difference from what your using now

stuff 'more on the gaming side' is not necessarily better. plus what is a keyboard more on the gaming side?

for $30 your best bet would be what Lantern suggested.

in terms of 'on the gaming side' - most 'gaming' keyboards are garbage(exceptions for mechanical gaming keyboards). If you want to spend a bit more on a keyboard, make it a mechanical keyboard, steelseries 7g/6gv2 are my recommendation.

logitech G series = garbage
razer = garbage - blackwidow sucks too
anything non mechanical by SteelSeries = garbage
