Okay, so I've done some reading / asking around about SSDs and I've heard differing opinions about them. Some people say that their SSD barely gives them an increase in loadup speeds for programs / windows, while others say that they are amazing and will make windows load up in under ten seconds and make games open instantly. The price for an SSD is significantly more than their HDD counterparts so I'm wondering if the speed increase is as dramatic as some say. I'm considering including one in my new PC, but I need to get some opinions I can trust first. Please, enlighten me

theyre faster, thats all there is to it.

read 285MB/s and a write speed of 275MB/s on the corsair F60's

compare this to at best 50mb/s either way for a platter drive.

yes they cost more, but the speeds cant be matched

and i got spammed on xfire in the middle of typing it, hence took longer LOL

Is this a bait thread?

If you have the money and would enjoy seeing windows boot and run 5X faster then on a HDD, BUY ONE.

No, it's not a bait thread. People have told me they aren't worth using because they haven't noticeably increased speed, I wanted to hear it from someone like Karma rather than randoms.

No that's fair enough. I can understand your thoughts there, as i know they aren't cheap when compared to the price of HDD's.

You won't regret buying it. They aren't for storage, just for your OS and main programs/games.

Will improve load times dramatically.

Well they aren't for storage unless you have enough money to buy one big enough*

TBH i don't know to many people that do.

It would cost you a tad over $3000 to get two of those. That sure is a sweet way to store movies and music.
