Unfortunately i'd already sold my pc before the sandy bridge error was announced. I'm not to worried about it as if theres a problem i'll just hand it back.

its only for sata 2.0 so go for 3.0 if possible!

The ram brand doesn't matter; honestly you can get a cheaper kit of 10666 and spend the savings on another HDD. Sata iii will see no benefit for a drive that is more costly.

Get the ASUS P67 board, new bios, boots faster and all that.

The rest of the bits are fine; well done choosing them.

I maintain the "meh" factor

whats up karma boy? its a pretty standard build, the best i can afford with the budget i have.
(thinking i might squeeze in the i7-2600K if i can find somewhere in Sydney that has one for under 400)

ur saving 65$ there, now how about all the other parts he can get cheaper ? add up all the differences and it will maybe add up to ~200$, so therefore ur paying only 100$ for labour.

Labour includes, overclocking, making it all tidy etc etc
