Yo,

I've moved out of my home last week and am now living in a complex. The place comes with optional internet ( something like $69 for 15gb a month) but is incredibly slow. One of my mates has bought it, and is downloading an average of 30kbs ha.

I've been looking for my own source of internet, and have basically ran out of ideas. I'm currently using my HTC Desire as a modem, which is surprisingly fast.. I'm with Telstra, so their data pack upgrade goes to $69 for 12gb.

Does anyone know of any better alternatives to using my phones internet? I've looked at various dongles and pre paid packs but I can't find anything anywhere near an affordable price... I have no home phone either, which will put an extra $20-$50 on my bill a month.

Would love you long time,

mm fairly expansive for `15gb.. i am with Aussie broadband around $79 a month don't no if that's to much.
its Australia wide.
i get up to 95gb on and off peek.
from Victoria i can give 3-4 bars no spawn lag ect.
download add on's (black ops map-pack in 3-4 minutes)
cheap and very quick.

i play on the telstra ultimate dongle, it lags out occasionally but thats more to do with the fact that i live in an area with bad signal. works great though. I am thoroughly impressed with it.

Don't expect to game on wireless internet.

Also don't expect large data allocations.

Don't go with telstra, they cost too much.

If you don't have a phone line you're limited to wireless. But if at all possible try and find a way to get naked adsl or something, wireless sucks balls.

if you dont have a home phone I too would recommend trying to get naked adsl; basically broadband without need for any old school phone line

You dont know much about internet providers do you..... how long it takes to download a map pack means nothing, go to speedtest.net do a speed test and post your result it would be much more helpful
