As exciting as it is watching the best teams that AusHoN has to offer battle it out, it's fantastic to see newer teams getting together to take a shot at competitive HoN here on Cybergamer. This Sunday, Cash Money Heroes takes on Zorrkunt in a BO3 matchup to determine the winners of the CG:HoN Minicup. Triumph caught up with CMH's captain, SpotTheOzzie, to discuss matters going into this Sunday.

Triumph: Alright, so how did Cash Money Heroes form? What prompted you guys to get involved in competitive HoN?

SpotTheOzzie: Well originally our team comes from an FPS background. Specifically Savage 1 and 2. The reason we ended up in HoN, not like most other teams who came from DotA, was because of S2Games developing HoN. So we just decided to move along with the times and move into S2's new game.

That's pretty cool actually! You're the first team I've heard played Savage. So who are your core five and what roles do you play on the team?

SpotTheOzzie: To give you an honest answer we switch it up a lot. You'll notice that we have eleven active members on our roster. We've had a lot of issues getting a permanent five players online week by week lately. We had a consistent five at the start of the tournament but two of our members moved on to create a team with their high school friends. That disruption caused us to break out of the top eight so we've got a lot of fill ins at the moment and a lot of rotations because we can't get a permanent five players. So as a result our roles are more of an adoption to the situation because we don't actually practice that much as a group outside of the tournament to designate specific roles. That said I usually play support heroes and chech3n_ is often our carry player.

Triumph: How do you prepare for matches? Do you practice as a team much?

SpotTheOzzie: Well we're really a group of FPS players who came into the HoN community at the same time and decided to form a team as a bit of fun. HoN isn't our primary game so we don't practice that much together, although if we're all on at the same time we'll jump into a game together.

Triumph: So you could say you've come as far as you have mostly on individual skill?

SpotTheOzzie: I think it's a combination of skill, luck, and timing more than anything but we've had a few situations where one or two players have stepped up and gone above and beyond for the team. Chech3n_ and Nitros have really shined at times and a bit to our surprise, 13obby. He's gelled well with the team and formed a bit of a combination with the other two guys to really bring it home for us.

Triumph: What's been your favourite moment during the season so far?

SpotTheOzzie: We had a game a while ago before the ladder was locked against Watch n Learn. We were defending 11th position and they were coming from 14th. The reason I like that game the most is because we had, in my opinion, our best five there on the day and we played a dominant game from the start. You know when you get good gank in the first couple of minutes and everything seems to be going your way? It was like that. We also tried tri-laning for the first time in that game with Myrmidon, Panda, and Voodoo and we got it to work successfully. That game was definitely my favourite moment of all time, not because of the competitive level but because of the way we played so well together and how well we read the flow of play.

Triumph: How do you think you've progressed as a team this season? What have you learned from playing?

SpotTheOzzie: As a team I think we've developed quite a bit although I'll admit we've had a lot of issues. Like I said earlier we had a couple of players leave just before the ladder got locked. We were in the top eight at but after they left we were quite vulnerable and started slipping down the ladder. We got some fill ins and got our confidence back but we were never going to get back into the top eight unless the season was extended. As far as team development goes we've got quite a good niche, had a couple of issues but we've learned from it. Every time we've come away with a loss we come back better than before. We played against Go Go Power Rangers, they ganked bottom rune early and tri-laned and slaughtered us. We decided to learn from them and used their strategies against WnL effectively. That's how every thing's come together; through our losses more than anything.

Triumph: What are you feelings on the match this weekend? Confident?

SpotTheOzzie: I'd say yes. I don't know much about the other team to be honest, we went into the second bracket second last and we're playing the guys who came third but last week we defeated the guys who came first in our bracket. The week before that we beat the guys who came sixth overall from the first bracket. In all honesty I think we can win this game and maybe next season threaten the guys in the top eight positions.

Triumph: Alright thanks for your time, before we wrap up are there any shoutouts you want to give?

SpotTheOzzie: Yeah I definitely want to shoutout to my team, the Cash Money Heroes. Everything they've put in has come back out as a positive. We've had a couple of guys like chech3n_ who have developed a leadership role and helped out me out a lot organising everyone. Nitros week in week out has turned up to all our games. Flibble has been a latecomer to the team and has been able to make the spots when we need them the most, lobby's also been very committed in turning up to matches. Most of all a shoutout to everyone who's made the time to play for us when they possibly can because it means a lot at the end of the day to have a full team. It really sucks to have to go in with three or four people and lose the match because of that.

Although I didn't mention it in the interview, I'd like to extend the shoutouts in reference to question 6 to a number of people.

CyberGamer and the admins of the ladder, without you guys we wouldn't of had this opportunity. I am still in some distraught about the closure of the ladder I would like to thank you all from everyone at CmH. I'm still a little unsure of all the events that have occurred in the last two weeks but I'm glad to see others take roles where necessary.

Also to Triumph himself. The guy is completely professional second to none. The night before the interview we had invited him to our teamspeak channel when he offered his services. As he wasn't able to do the interview at that time he stayed around for a little chat. Everyone who was there mentioned that he was very social, good to talk to and had an awesome radio/commentator voice. The next night during the interview, some randoms thought it would be funny to bust into the teamspeak channel and started screaming their lungs out; triumph played it cool and just mentioned we are in the middle of the interview...More screaming endured with kids at the age of 15 screaming I'M HERE FOR THE INTERVIEWWWAUIOHNASDKJASDKJADN RAAWRWARWRWR. Even the server admins were playing pranks. I apologised as I felt extremely embarrassed and was a little thrown off the interview but he handled it like a champ where I'm sure many others would have just left. I wouldn't let an ambitious journalist like this guy out of sight, he is pure class and more than welcome to join the ts at anytime for a chat.

Thank you to you all who recognised second bracket and for providing an interview opportunity.

On another note, good luck and have fun to ZK and the other teams competing tonight.
