Roto ladder. I would be keen for the shits and giggles.

Wouldn't be stupidly active like we were with scrims and what not, but would scrim occassionally and defs play on a ladder. Speaking for all scrips btw, bl ****s we're coming out of retirement

L4D2 ladder is pretty much dead competitively. I don't think it is a hassle to keep it around as a "fun" ladder for now, but that might not last long. May need a new admin for it too.

L4D1 ladder is a possibility, as teams are now just finally starting to realize how much better of a game it is. Will need to gauge people's interest.

Well if sentient doesn't mind keeping his servers up then I don't see any harm in having both a L4D2 and a roto ladder.

I'd like to see roto with the ability of letting teams offer maps 1-3 only (4 and finale are usually boring anyway) so as to reduce the time commitment L4D requires. Compared to a lot of FPS games a L4D game can get quite long, if you add in two scrims before the match to prac with your team the time taken goes up by a lot.

We have a small community and some members might be busy through the week.

Plus from what I've seen of roto the matches are determined on 1-3 anyway, both teams will get wiped on the finale if they're similar in skill and map 4 for the most part is still a relatively easy map.

I'm down for keeping servers up, grandfather l4d team up in this bitch!

I like the 1-3 map idea, would be good to have shortish matches that way.
Is the sacrifice in the map pool? I wouldn't mind playing that.
Also, I think someone mentioned this before (may have even been you Jekt), but we should maybe look into doing map medley's.
I'm thinking of community decided pre-made map list (eg. bh1, nm3, dt3) instead of having teams squabble over it.

I'd love to see a 2v2 ladder open up, for either L4D1 or 2, although in my opinion the scoring system in 2 and the extra infected makes L4D2 more suited for it.
With 2v2, matches are easier to set up, and generally play out quicker than 4v4 games.

I could see some potential interest in this with only 2 people required per team and games being played out within the hour. Also with only 2 people per team the ladder would be fairly active.

Not sure how we can do that. Unless an admin is there to change maps manually each map and remember the scores.

The ending saferooms for each map is linked to the next one and you have to get the source maps to change it (which Valve provides but only the SP versions with no infected ladders and rooftops). This is AFAIK when I investigated this 1 year ago.

Im keen for a L4D2 2v2 ladder again. I have some unfinished bsns with that hypothetical trophy...namely claiming it for my own!! I mean, ours RedDog, ours. :S

Oh yeah and L4D2 4v4 ladder...I'm personally not gonna play that competitively anymore...I get all nostalgic and miss my original CEDA team everytime lol. (No offense Hali/Noc/Kazoo/Maj/Pyro/Stxxx/Gus/tehAdzMastor xD).

The scoring system for roto mod needs to change. L4D2 system should be used instead. It is much better suited to this kind of mod. If you want closer and truer (It's in the dictionary Meshu) end result. This mode is seeing more wipes therefore you need a scoring more based on distance than on HB.

Hate the idea of mixing the maps up. ATM there is some good and bad of each campaign. If you re-create the campaigns there is going to be no variety. People will just play the shit out of one of them, then QQ about it being boring. What variations could you really do while still offering variation.

We've been playing the same 4 campaigns for the past 2 years.

I'm for ditching finales, they take too long and the end tank is a huge diceroll.

As for ending campaigns on map 3 or 4. I'd much rather see 4 be the ending map for all of the campaigns. More importantly for me is to remove that pesky map multiplier. I've had it on my server for a while and the people I've talked to about it appreciate the change.

There's nothing stopping teams from playing custom campaigns. They're installed on my server ready to go but of course nobody uses them. Getting 8 people to download 50-200mb is a mighty task.

Suicide Blitz is amazing fun as well, so keen for a scrim on that one.

Edit: Actually wait, the map multiplier isn't the most important thing to me, making the witch crownable is, and if this smoker cloud gimmick is staying, allow room camping.

sup?

Double Edit: More important then all of that together is players.
