There is a for and against for the L4D1 scoring.
L4D1 scoring places more emphasis on "clutch" moments, tanks, witches, quad attempts, high damage separation areas. And that's fine, you could argue that a team that performs better under pressure will come out on top usually. Where as L4D2 puts more emphasis on the overall strategy. And that's not a bad way either. It just depends on what your team is good at.
The downfall of the L4D1 system is the finales, at the finale as long as you make the radio it is 100 (or 200 with map multi) but regardless if you kill 1, 2 or no tanks, you get no bonus. I think a L4D2 system would only be noticeably superior in the finale section.
EDIT: I don't like the L4D2 system because if both teams are neck and neck the team going second can wipe near the same area but knowing this, one team member can just rushrushrush and get more points. Best exploited when the other team's spawns are down and you find a pipe or molly, you can score a lot of extra points that way.
I like the system for the finale though because you can't rush and force the game to proceed any faster than it is already going. So a mixture of both, L4D1 for maps, L4D2 for finale would be ideal.
