I asked one of the main guys over at KAOS/THQ's (Frank Delise, he's the main PC version guy) some questions in regards to map sizes, and how he thinks that games can be played competitively. He quickly replied with the following which seemed quite decent:

SPOILER: Click to view

I'm going to try and find out more info regarding unlocks, specifically if they can be limited etc like BF2.

What's everyones thoughts about this game so far? It's looking pretty solid

Looks pretty cool, good to see some actual PC and competitive support ^_^

Should ask about ready up, time out/pause, mod tools, console (quick connect being super handy) and editable configs next time you email/PM/whatever the dev.

Where are you getting this info that it's a console port? If it is, it's HEAVILY modified (proper server browser, rcon, spec mode, demo recording and other things). Also, fair sure the recent CoD games are console ports XD. They seem to do decently.

Digital Extremes seem to be doing a fairly good job for the PC version. They're putting in a lot more features than other BF style games have had in a while!

If it's as bad as Bad Company 2 or Black Ops, it will fail. I'll wait and see on the reviews.

It's all well and good promising mod tools and unranked servers but where is the time frame? Are we talking out of the box? A month? Half a year? Because this is a stand alone game outside the "bf, cod" nexus of consumers it will have to be damn near perfect gameplay and comp ready out of the box to stand a chance. Even only a couple months wirhout mod tools and any leagues or ladders will be dead on arrival.
