Seeing as there seems to be a number of threads on the beta, with more being made with the release of just one new video and/or piece of information, I think it would be most appropriate to designate all Gears of War 3 Beta discussion to one thread. Here you should post new articles, videos, your opinions and reviews on the beta from now until its end date.

Just to kick it off with a brief of what we know so far:

How To Get It:

The Gears of War 3 Beta is available with the purchase of the Bulletstorm Epic Edition. Obtaining the beta through Bulletstorm also allows you to play it ONE WEEK prior to the normal public release date. (April 18th)

You can still obtain access to the beta by pre-ordering Gears of War 3 at EB Games and perhaps other selected stores where you will be given a code. The beta will be accessible after the first week of its opening to Bulletstorm owners. (April 25th)

The Dates:

As above, Bulletstorm owners receive access starting from April 18th and runs until May 15th.

Regular beta participants receive access starting from April 25th and runs until May 15th.

The FULL game is released on the 20th of September.

Unlockables:

These are the known unlockables available to beta participants, which will carry over to the full game.

- Beta Tester Medal - (complete one match in the beta)
- Thrashball Cole - (complete 50 matches in any game type, and 10 matches as Thrashball Cole)
- Gold-Plated Retro Lancer - (complete 90 matches in any game type, and score 100 kills with it)
- Flaming Lancer - (complete one match during the week of 25th April)
- Flaming Hammerburst - (complete one match by the 24th of April)
- Flaming Sawed-Off Shotgun - (complete one match during the week of 2nd May)
- Flaming Gnasher Shotgun - (complete one match during the week of 9th May)

Once again, all other posts relating to the beta should be posted in this thread ONLY to avoid clutter. So knock yourselves out, discuss the beta in all its glory from now up until its end. Depending on what options are available to us, this may also serve as a small tournament thread but is unlikely.

wait so gow 3 is comming out in may now?

Its worth the extra 10-15 dollars to get epic edition instead of standard but unless your gonna play Bullet Storm it's probably not worth it!

Bullet Storm is a SICK game anyway, so buy it and play that! =)

No where does it say that GoW3 is coming out in may :S Gears Of War 3 is set to release on the 20th of Sept 2011

The epic edition of bulletstorm does not cost any extra

Some really good info i havnt even read yet!

I personally don't think Bulletstorm is any good. I got it just so I could get into the beta early, which IMO is well worth the money.
As for everyone else, I'd suggest just pre ordering Gears 3 and getting it that way. Save some cash and put it towards the Epic Edition of Gears 3.

Theres no price difference between normal and epic edition of Bulletstorm hard copy, but Bulletstorm is a decent game worth getting considering you get the Gears Of war 3 Beta free mid April.

I'll post up information about the maps which were revealed when i can find the source again.

And they did say a while back when to vote for carmine was going on that if the vote tied they would kill baird! so who knows?? lolol

Dizzy and Tai are playable characters returning, so obviously Duizzy is still alive, i actually havent seen any baird reference since the ashes to ashes trailer. and yeah thats jace stratton iin that picture.

GoW3 Beta is 88.9MB to download, then gets placed in your game library as a Demo. It will be available for download next week from the Gears 3 beta option on the Bulletstorm menu, but you can run it but you won't be able to play it:
