Thanks to a generous community contribution from Pengu
The prize has been raised to $400

Please give him a huge thank you and lets get this rolling.

Sign-ups close midnight 23th April, 2011

Only 8 teams are currently signed up. If you had an existing team in the 'It Ain't Over Yet' tournament you are not automatically signed up but your team will still exist. Please ensure you get your team captain to add your team to the sign-up ladder.

The CyberGamer Left 4 Dead team is proud to announce it's first sponsored tournament! That's right, Left 4 Dead is back, and thanks to Cardboard Box Audio and CyberGamer, we are offering a $400 PRIZE for the winning team. The community is back in full force, getting back into the original of the Left 4 Dead series after recent changes to competitive modifications, giving fresh life and new competition, this tournament is bound to see some thrilling matches.

Now is the perfect time, for a revival for old and NEW teams alike, with similar events being seen overseas in Europe and America, bringing in lots of old school players and teams with many shout-casting groups showcasing all the live action! Check out E-Rev and iDE TV for live shout-casts and VODs from the best players around the world. For players new to Competitive Left 4 Dead check out this frag video to see what it's like!

This tournament will be a fast paced FREE TO PLAY single elimination tournament, sign-ups will be open for 2 weeks and depending on interest is aiming to bring in at least 16 teams. In the event that your team doesn't fit into our bracket feel free to join up to the casual Rotoblin Ladder to get in some practice in preparation for future sponsored tournaments!

We aim to have ALL matches live shout-casted by members of the community over at our CGL4D channel with special guest community leaders and captains. Casts will bring all the live action as well as a live insight into the chatter of both teams during the intense moments in their games!

Tournament sign-ups are to be filled out on this L4D Tournament page. Old teams should be able to just choose the "Add Your Team" to be entered onto the sign-up ladder. All other important information can be found on the sign-up page, the Left 4 Dead forums or the Tournament Steamgroup, where all live shout-cast announcements will be posted.

New teams can sign-up a team here.

Wouldn't it make more sense if it was a $400 prize? $100 per player ect.

Looks fun though. GL.

Hopefully in future we will be heading in this direction! I think for new teams even Vanilla Rotoblin will be a challenge for the time being, best not to jump into the deep end too quickly!

We're kind of doing a vanilla/hardcore hybrid as melee cooldown will be set to kick in at 2 and infected spawn timers will be set at 18, however throwables and pills will still be on the map.

I think it should be the opposite, no throwables at all and no pills but keep melee at standard. Throwables introduces more diceroll and favours the team going survivors second.

That is a really good point.

Will be interesting to see how if this entices people to play. Hopefully it does

It's actually 'Join Ladder' and will auto add your team if you are currently in one.

And also...
