so much wasted potential.
Nothing wasted I don't think, it's just not ready yet.
To answer your question serby, nothings happening yet comp wise, a few people are in the process of testing some things which - if they work, will mean we can get a trial ladder going and see how it goes.
With correct settings and rules it might be playable in the current state.
What a lot of people don't realise about AA is that the game in a few patches time will be a lot different to how it is now. AA3 in the
tiny dev studio's eyes (they only have a few people coding this game remember) is like AA1 - they see it as a "first build" of the game - like a game studio would think of their first stable alpha.
If they waited until it was feature complete it would take a few more years before they released - so they release what they've done so far and as they code more they'll release that too.
Once there is a proper server browser and some netcode fixes to enable 14+ players - it should be able to build up an active pub community.
We may have to wait for things like PB CVAR's, Tournament Mode & Admin panel before the comp side takes off - but there's no harm in waiting until it's ready.
It's not like we've promoted it massively, tried to get a competition going and then watched it die, (that would have been really bad) -
it just hasn't started yet.
