As a way of getting more people interested in the game and current players interested in CTF, myself with the help of Premiumgamer will be running a Capture the Flag draft competition so that new teamless players can get a feel for what QuakeLive wars are like and hopefully attract some people who will be willing to stick around with the game for awhile. In a sense this is also to spark some interest in getting some more competitive CTF play going as most online Australian comps thus far have either been for duel or TDM leading to a trend of only being able to play pub CTF, which gets rather tedious.
At the moment i'm aiming for 32 players to allow for an 8 team 4v4 competition, as of posting this currently 9 people (PG regulars) have signed up with 2 expressing interest to captain teams. New players are more then welcome to sign up, if anything it's encouraged. I also implore people who tried out the game before but only pubbed to also sign up as organized play is a lot better then random FFA's. For those interested a basic breakdown of the rules/format:
- Single Elimination Bracket
- 4v4
- 8 teams
- Mappool: Troubled Waters (ctf2), Stronghold (ctf3), Ironworks (ctf7), Siberia (ctf8), Courtyard Conundrum (ctf10)
- Overtime (Sudden Death)
