I am going to build a new pc soon and i was thinking of a build something along these lines (it will be used for gaming along with school work):
CPU: i5 2500k ( i7 isnt really necessary is it?)
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 Ti Overclocked 1GB
HDD: western digital caviar black 1tb
SSD: OCZ vertex 2 3.5" 120gb
RAM: Corsair CMX8GX3M4A1600C9 8GB (4x2GB) DDR3
MOBO: ASUS P8P67 Motherboard B3
PSU: Antec high current gamer 750W (is this enough power?)
Optical: Samsung SH-S223C SATA DVDRW Drive
Case: NZXT tempest evo (was also considering coolermaster haf 922 and antec 902)
Cooling: Thermalright Venomous X Silent (i am going to oc)

What are your opinions on this build, will it run all games on high settings and is there anything you would change without dramatically increasing the price.

Lol. Don't need an i7 yet you need an SSD? Get an i7 they are ****en cheap. It wont run all games on high settings. If it did it would be barely even playable fps. I'd go a GTX570 also. What mobo?

I'm looking at selling the exact graphics card, and I've got a brand new 2tb western digital caviar black, could work out a deal if you're interested. and just FYI, i run blackops with 125 fps constant (never drops) and in cod4 i get 250 frams constant, in cs:s i get 250/300 constant and thats on 1920/1080.

CPU: i5 2500k If you have the extra $$, get the i7, but its no big drama
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 Ti Overclocked 1GB solid card, good choice
HDD: western digital caviar black 1tb YUKKY, grab a samsung or hitachi for win
SSD: OCZ vertex 2 3.5" 120gb not bad, if u can wait, theres some new sata 3 ones not far off that wont break your bank from corsair
RAM: Corsair CMX8GX3M4A1600C9 8GB (4x2GB) DDR3 planning to OC? get C8 or better
MOBO: ASUS P8P67 Motherboard B3 good board, will do well, if you want a bit more room for the OC etc, grab a pro or sabre
PSU: Antec high current gamer 750W will be fine mate, theyre nice psu's tho not modular enough for me. one thing to keep in mind, they tend to squeal while in idle mode a bit.
Optical: Samsung SH-S223C SATA DVDRW Drive
Case: NZXT tempest evo (was also considering coolermaster haf 922 and antec 902) all disgusting, functional yes, but terrible for cable routing and the like. the tempest has terrible hdd caddy design also. try to get something better that will last a few upgrades etc
Cooling: Thermalright Venomous X Silent very nice coolers, tho if you need to save a few $$, TT's Frio, antecs Kuhler box and a few others work very well too. Remember these chips arent like the older ones, they dont need such extreme coolers for good OC's

I've run every game I've ever played at max settings with decent FPS on my PC which has lower specs than this build.

What do you class as decent fps? Judging by the use of the word "decent" it must not be that great.

Consistent rate of 125 on most games.

I'd drop the SSD and go for a better graphics card, atleast a 570. That's just my personal opinion. Otherwise, nice build, and some wise words there by Karma.

Yup, I looked into the NZXT cases very closely. I'm all about style when it comes to cases therefore finding a practical one can be hard. I ended up buying the phantom becos it has everything you need and it's well priced considering. TBH, the rest of the NZXT range was really poor. The front panels are just terrible. Even the Phantom is pretty flimsy but apart form that it's strong, spacey, good functionality and LOOKS AWESOME (looking at you Karmdawg ). Do not buy the Tempest would be my advice.
