Read through the rules and found a few things that weren't great...

Nothing to bad but there are some things that may be good to bring up and possibly change.

First, the 4 minute time limit. A time limit completely changes the way the game is played. There are reasons that you may want one but if it's not that big a deal to you it would be much better without one.

Second, 150 home planet production. That much production makes it very hard to use some tactics. It's not as much of a problem but would be better between 100 and 120. Also if you're looking for a faster start try 120 to 150 starting ships. The starting ships giving a faster more powerful start, but don't effect game play in the long run.

Anyway, just my opinion and I welcome other opinions.

Lowering starting production may be an option, The only reason this was done was to make the "home planet" a more valuable planet for each player in the short term. Keeping this planet alive for as long as possible would insure a better rush and defense, and if lost could cause upset for that team.

Time limit was introduced to eliminate camping and bring quick-tactics into the game, meaning the players would have to get a 'move on' to be able to secure the map correctly and efficiently.
Also played out of 13 rounds making a match 13x4minutes or technically first to 7 if the team is much more skilled.

having 13 rounds instead of the traditional 11 would also give chance for more even spawn ratios.

hmmm, in FFA I can see stopping people from camping with a time limit, but in a 1 on 1 or 2 on 2 camping is a bad tactic and would only get you killed in the end anyway. Camping basically only works if there are 3+ players/teams so if you stop fighting the other two will hurt each other while you grow.
