So, being relatively new, i figured the best way to learn more about the game was to watch demos. Except that i have no idea what im actually looking for.

What should i be watching/looking at specifically during a demo? I figured i should at least watch how they move around the map, but past that. NFI.

Btw: Have been watching demos from strenx, cypher, rapha and our very own dandaking. Any other players one would suggest?

You can only learn so much from watching demos and that is learning their play style, it's more important to watch demos of people you would actually be vsing. Australian duellers play a lot more aggressive than Euro and US duellers.

What you should be trying to learn is the basics which you can't learn from demos.
Timing, prediction, how the guns work, when to fight and flight. There are some pretty cool guides over on the Quake Live forums. It all comes from experience which can take some time.

Add me on QL: Bilbin
I'm fairly new myself though

Av3k, Stermy, Toxic, Fazz, DaHang, K1llsen, L1nkje, Noctis etc etc.

Just check out duel vids of big names vsing other people

I found asking alot of the div1/2 players in ql on what i should be doing or where im going wrong if i played them helped me alot. Also if your watching alot of demos try and look out for positioning, tactics (they way they go about the kill), when they push and when they run then go and play a match and try and put those technic's into practice. But even with that said it all comes down to practice pretty much like bilbin said.

Thats my 2cents anyway, hope it helps hf and gl
