I have just finished putting together my first hardware video. I have done an unboxing and first look at the Tt eSports MEKA G1. Check it out and let me know what you think (please be gentle :p).

I will be doing a full written review in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes out for that if you are interested. I'm using this keyboard at home and at work, so I will be testing it extensively.

If you have any questions about the keyboard, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer them.

Retails at around $140. Not a cheap keyboard, but if you spend a lot of time on the computer, mechanical keyboards are definitely worth it.

You'll need something to mop up the various fluids that will exit your body.

"Hey guys I'm going to review a keyboard, mind stroking my ego for me?"

That's the entirety of this thread btw.

Yeah, pretty much, I just have a huge ego and need people on the Internet to stroke it for me. I couldn't possible be interested in hardware and have a hobby that I want to share with people for informational purposes

Giving out obvious information in small installments for no good reason. Definitely a worthwhile pursuit.

Nothing in your video was worth watching, you just got it out of the box and said "hey look it's a keyboard, it has cords and goes click clack boom".

Unboixings are obviously something you aren't interested in, so why bother watching/commenting? All it is for is to give a general overview and information on a product so you can see it first hand rather then sifting through marketing buzz on the product website. It seems thousands of other people see them worthwhile enough to want to watch them, but your opinion is more valid then theirs isn't it?

than*

If you're doing a review why do an unboxing? You've basically said - here's the first few steps of my review, how good am I?

Though that is another point to raise - when other people will provide an actual review that looks in detail at the parts and functionality of the keyboard as well as your "here's a look at it woooow" there really is no need for unboxing videos. They're masturbatory fractional reviews and they provide nothing.

The reason I bother is because you seem to know what you're on about and speak well, it looks like you could do a good review video if you just stopped wasting time with "unboxing" videos.

Edited once, 10/6/11 - 12:27pm.
