This is a thread for proper discussion about whether or not the Skorpion should be removed from the ruleset.

Firstly, here's the comparison between the MP5 and the Skorpion



This chart highlights both the pros and cons in comparison to the MP5. Keep in mind that we play with 50 Health.

Pros:

• 1 hit kill up close
  
• 2-3 over range (nearly instant kill with RPM)
  
• Higher RPM
  
• Far less vertical recoil
  
• No side to side recoil
  
• Can barely be heard with a silencer without a detrimental loss to dmg/range
  

This effectively means that you can shoot across the map with virtually no recoil, and due to the higher RPM, you can easily get a kill if you see them even partially over a long range. Rushing with it is overly effective as you've got the hipfire accuracy of an SMG and depending on the range, you can clean them up with one hit kills. The downfall to this is the clip size.

It's significantly easier to shoot over range than the MP5 due to the lack of recoil, and to that extent, easier than an

Cons:

• Damage drops over a short range
  
• 20 Bullet Clip
  

Pretty much the only downfall is that you'll run out of ammo fast if you're spraying nips non stop, as well as the damage drop, however, the rate of fire and recoil guarantees a kill far too easily over range.

but seriously saw some guy, kmackz i think in a cod4 pug mvp on crossfire with it, barely takes a few bullets to kill cross map -_- it actually takes a bit of skill to use so don't ban it is my opinion

It's the easiest gun to use out of all SMGs. I rarely use a subby, but I've used it every now and then for the past few days and it's just imbalanced compared to other guns.

Keep in mind that people have adjusted to black ops and are used to shooting bucket loads into people with guns that actually have recoil over range.

Really? I first tried it and it was practically a mini mini-uzi. Only guns that should be banned are FAMAS and AUG. definitely famas because it is overpowered

Dont really have a problem with it, i have always known it is generally a better weapon then the Mp5 (apparently if you put a silencer on it the range goes into a negative figure, thus giving it a "theoretical" unlimited range. )

I havent came across a whole team whoring it as every1's preference still seems to be an Mp5.

because it was never a problem, you wouldn't know Lockdown but ages ago most people saw it as a shitty gun id say, and it actually took skill to use it.

Exactly Dalla, people are used to shooting more bullets into people, and now cod4 they don't and 'good' players have been dominating with it so everyone sees it as op. I cbf writing all my reasons as im hungover as **** and tbh i couldn't give a rats ass if its in or out, just don't see it as that op to get rid of it.
