well the quake live scene atm isn't that huge here on cg, the problem would be getting the people interested in the teams but either way it's no big deal.
knowing the average time for a game to take place would make it easier to set up for a one day comp. In cod they winner moves on for the first few games when they get huge team limits, then semi and finals become best of 3.
lack of servers, that's where haymo comes in with him being apart of the cg staff servers could be provided on the day, if it's going to be on quake live then the community could come together and everyone chip in where they can like players with pro competeting or not just come on to make a server for people to play on.
have the whole event on a sunday.
and funding can either be done through sponsors or a entry fee into the competetion.
Either way i'm fairly new into the quake scene it's a great game and it's a lot move involving then other fps games, i'd be keen to play in some comp's money or not.
