The size of the screen doesn't damage your eyes idiot, prolonged viewing is what does it... and even then you have to be extremely unlucky to damage your eyes.

27 is probably a little harder to play on purely for the fact that its bigger and you have to focus on more area and may miss things.

Well thats the only disadvantage i see.
